really close call... both pure classics to me. MMLP was just pure talented rapping, effortless liquid flow, insane rhyme schemes and the introduction of concepts that have never been explored in hip hop before, plus the ability to tell any story and better yet, reflect on it. Not to mention the emotion just pouring out on every track (shoutout to Star Nizzy).

On the other hand, GRODT was the a complete game changer. It may have been an NY album but I felt that its sound opened up the gates for the South's rise to popularity, ultimately influencing and changing the entire genre. To be fair, I believe it was a combination of 50 and Kanye in the mid-2000s that changed the game, but you can't deny the role GRODT (and all the G Unit releases around that time) played in it. Plus, it has not a single bad song, the production is absolutely perfect, the hooks are unparalleled and there are some bangers that are just too good to be true (literally the entire album) while MMLP has a few sketchy moments.

I can still listen to GRODT to this day on repeat and still enjoy every single song, cant remember the last time I listened to MMLP. Still, in terms of quality I'd have to give it MMLP just because it felt more creative while GRODT was crafted specifically for radio and clubs. Not that thats a bad thing, but I've always much prefered and admired creativity in music over and above anything else.

Both are masterpieces and both are in the elite of the elite category.

GRODT because it's listenable from beginning to end.

As much as I love MMLP there are still to this day songs I have not been able to finish. Songs like Amityville, Under the Influence, and b---- Please 2.
