Feb 21, 2017 In an interview with IGN, Boon said he understands fans might be interested in this, but added that the game might not be able to live up the hype. "There's part of me that's like, 'That would be such a cool dream,' and then there's another part of me that goes, 'There's no way would that satisfy everybody,'" he said. If Capcom ever came to NetherRealm to discuss such a project, Boon said he would "have to entertain it." A potential crossover title would seemingly require not only some kind of business arrangement between Capcom and Mortal Kombat owner Warner Bros., but also some gameplay solutions. Boon pointed out that the two franchises have different flavors of fighting. "There's different pacing, there's different fundamentals with both of them," Boon said. There have been fighting game crossovers in the past, one example being Street Fighter x Tekken. According to Boon, this was not an ideal situation for either franchise. With a fighting game crossover, "one of the licenses... is going to have to sacrifice something," he said. Other crossover fighting games released over the years include Tekken x Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. NetherRealm's current project is Injustice 2, which comes out in May for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/mortal-kombatstreet-fighter-crossover-game-sounds-/1100-6448070/
