I like how you edited your post to add that last part.

Classic: definition: "Judged over a period of time to be of the highest quality and outstanding of its kind"

Objectively, MTBMB is neither of the highest quality of it's kind, nor is it outstanding. It's a good album for someone who's in the twilight of his career. Nothing more.

When brain dead idiots like yourself use this term to describe okay albums it completely loses it's meaning.

MMLP is a classic. It was unique and had a massive impact. We still talk about it to this day. MTBMB is an enjoyable, but forgetable album. There's nothing exceptional about it.

A classic to me is just a near-flawless album which has a style/sound/feel that carries throughout, with a few amazing highs.

Side A feels like that to me. Nothing feels out of place or 'ah ffs why did he include this', then you have some amazing highs of rapping and the conceptual/storytelling/writing brilliance of 'Darkness'. Also 'Never Love Again'. But, obviously 'Darklness' is the masterpiece itself of the album, especially with it fitting and summing up the title of the album - MUSIC to be MURDERED BY... liter-ally, a song about people being murdered, and a double-entendre of a music performance/murderer... Genius.

Would be if it ends at Deja Vu. Without the bs tacked on at the end. Woulda been such a genius and perfect ending too, that track even sounds like it was intended to be... way it goes out. Perfect way to end and go into R2 that he robbed us of too.

wouldn’t remove a single song tbh. Beautiful is nice and Underground is one of my favorites from the album. Classic.

Makes me miss his fire flows and catchy hooks every day.

Good to hear u staying real bro. Any chance his new album will go back to this style? Imagine having a sequel to River... :emoji_fire:

I'm good man. Forum is a little slow but people do check in from time to time. It could use some fresh takes from someone like u though!

Listen to his old stuff from back in the day and then listen to this. Doesn't even sound like the same person. He's still spillin' raps I guess, but he's not killin' 'em. Not like he used to. He's just not Eminem anymore, y'know?

And without comparing it to the classics, this album was just corny. Especially Side A. Darkness, Marsh, Stepdad and Farewell are as bad as anything on Revival or Encore.

Because it’s got a liberal political message so if he plays it he starts melting

Literally the only reason he included it in his list lmao

I don’t necessarily entirely agree with the message of the song either, but to say it’s as bad as anything on Revival or Encore is wild. It’s one of his best in recent years.

Beautiful was made for King Mathers. Sounds stupid there. The only song in that style. Ruins it.

Yeah agreed. I couldn’t care less about Eminem’s politics of all people, if he makes a good song who cares?
