    1. You the One
First off, thanks for showing me this track m8. The hook is infectious right from the start, with the way Thug cuts each line abruptly in order to form the melody. This ability to mold cohesive rhythmic patterns at a drop of a hat carries through to both verses, as the first one builds its tempo with the great reading of the line "Ill cash out even though Im not Cash Out," and the 2nd verse flips the script with Thug's poignant declaration of love to his fiancee: "I I I wanna marry you." Every time Thug speaks, his ability to emote allows his lyrics to transcend any standard form of evaluation. ""a b c d e f" b---- you know that I'm a G" reads like a middle schooler's joke, but on this track one can't help but assume it's an inside joke between him and his boo. Not to mention, from a technical pov, he goes on to rhyme "g" with a "jodeci" reference. It's difficult to ever fault this artist for a lot, if I'm being completely honest. Especially on an unreleased, throwaway, leak such as this. Wheezy continues to prove he's bringing a fresh vibe to ATL's bustling scene, and I'm sure he's here to stay (especially after hearing his contributions on SS2, etc.). There's more I could say, like how Thug is able to take typical idioms like "she gon ride with me" and change it to something new but still familiar like "if I'm riding boy you know she ridin' too," but I run the risk of repeating myself. A lot of what thug does is subtle, but its what helps him stay relatively in the same area content wise for 100s of songs but still come up with something new and refreshing on a daily basis. "She gon ride it like a Kawasaki, woo!" He sounds so reserved on this track, but it only adds to the overall aesthetic. Kind of like how he was so lowkey for his freestyle in Paris, that everyone is now shi--ing on for no reason. It's about matching the atmosphere of the beat at hand, not your "bars."

    15. Mister
I live my life just like a mister! I really wonder what would've happened to all these Tha Tour pt. 2 leaks had they not been leaked. This is a b-----r. Similar to Warrior to me, but more energetic. Thugga thugga throw a hunnid bands on anybooooodyyyy...SLIIIIIIME. That first verse is so f---ing good. U Slime? Hands down!I Mister Mister Mister lay em dowwwn. Used to bump this in the whip like over a year ago now...been a minute since I heard it. So many great songs most people will never discover by this dude. Not sure who that is on the 2nd verse? But yeah hook and first verse are A1 (guest verse is cool too).

    16. OD
Fantastic song that sets off the 3 track closing sequence of Barter 6. I read that Thug literally didn't know what to do for his sister's birthday and mother's day combined and, although he bought them both cars or something lmao, he ended up making this song. Where he calls out all his siblings and his mom in the middle is so touching. And it's weird how a song like this is centered on a hook where he's self conscious about his drug use and general lifestyle. It creates an interesting juxtaposition of romantic he is at heart, and the tougher exterior he has to maintain on a daily basis. One of Thug's more focused joints to date, for sure.

    17. Numbers
The next song in this sequence, who's hook is just brilliant: f--- n----- trippin I get to prison and f--- your father uuuuup. The production is haunting, and Thug rides the beat like no other. The piano, backed by the thunder and other atmospheric sfx, the layered vocals harmonizing in the background, all create the perfect template for him to claim "Im the realest n----- inside the A." "Leanin' movin' slow as grandma" is just another example of how his imagery can be so left-field, but still so vivid. One of the most underrated tracks on the album to be honest -- don't hear people talking about this, aside from that 1 line in hook, enough. That note he holds before the "i can read his mind," deserves a grammy. My favorite part is most defintiely "hey, genius..ill chase the day. wait, let me pick up his remains. hey, let them gators get their prey" so many emotions jam packed in 2 bars.

    18. Just Might Be
The last of this 3-part sequence, and the closer to one of the best albums of the year. Just Might Be is self-affirming, proud, bold, but, above all, its just a brilliant display of the technical skill that allows thug to flex this unrestrained bravado. I love how it starts off as basically a continuation of the dialogue at the start of the album/"Constantly Hating." The verses are fiercely defiant ("Come here tempt me if you wan' go on a date/I'll make bail within' the first 48"), full of quotables, and even moments of insightful storytelling ("Momma move to 85 north, not 85 south"). One of his best songs of the year, that ive kinda let fall to the wayside recently because I overplayed it so much back in the day.

    19. Ridin'
I like the mixtape version of this more, even though its mixed weirdly and s---. The version called "Imma Ride." This is one of my friend's favorite tracks on the tape, mainly for the adlibs and thug's verse haha. BLAT....BLAT. BLAT. Thug's verse is a thing of wonder...dude really said NASSSSCAAAAAR SPEED ON EM!!!! :lmaooo: I GOT b------s IN THE SPOT CALLIN ME THEEE HOMIE.

    IM

BOUNCIN IN IT LIKE A TRAMPOLINE HOOOMIE

IM BANGIN RED LIKE STRAWBERRIES I TOLD UR b---- AINT GOIN STEADY MY WEED IS LOUD AND U SMOKIN LIBRARIES

^^^^ Nascar speed on em and strawberries/libraries is one of my favorite things EVER

i had my dad listen to his verse just now to try and pick up a word, and my mom also walked in, and it was awesome lmao. now im playing good times for them. I just actually played them a couple tracks, and theyre digging it all. im happy af right now.

    20. Keep It Leave
So glad I discovered this joint this year...it slipped by me for too long. From the "u dig" sequence, to the "METROOOO" this track is just perfect man. Cant believe its basically a throwaway. Metro and Thug might make better music than Metro and Future tbh (@Mike Tyson). My favorite part of the track is the "i dont wanna play unless im off a bar" bit...the melody there just gets me every god d--- time.

My user title is from this song lol: I BOGUHT AN AUDI FOR MY MUM AND s---.

I still go back and watch this video sometimes cuz it beautiful :allears:

Travis is entirely inconsequential to this track. I'm sorry, but it's true. His verse is utterly forgettable (so much so that he had to add like a 2 min intro the music video with a different verse/song attached to this lol), and his hook could've been done even better by Rich Homie (although the "ohhhhs" in the background are deffo all Travis lmao, Id keep him on that but cut everything else he did for this track). The track is carried by Rich Homie's post-hook and both his and Thug's fantastic verses. "I do not f--- with America, I get it straight off the boat" might be the most quoted line from this track, aside from "call her ticket cuz I really wanna meet her." Since we're here to review Thug, let's stick to his verse -- it's a brilliant exercise in minimalism while inexplicably still full of poignant one-liners. It's also technically sound, as shown by the ending where Thug rattles off words that rhyme with "SS me" (molest me, lesbi, chicken like sesame, get sexy and Cassidy being a few key choices he went with). "Give a hoe ten keys like...get sexy," whew. The kush never made Thug choke, and he'll whip it till he has a stroke. That's all you really need to know about him -- oh and that he's got dance moves for days

First off, I think trouble did a great job keeping up with Thug and literally going bar for bar with him at some points. This track really could've been credited to either artist. That being said, thug is still obviously a main reason the track is as, idk, mystical, or surreal, as it seems. "I look good as your dad on a Friday" to "I pull up bout my cake, I got fish I'm a lake," thug peppers the record with one liners that's are bewildering one second, but blunt and menacing the next. Regardless, these jabs are ultimately delivered with pure whimsy. The adlibs throughout thugs verse are also noteworthy, seeing as how each bar is matched with a real time gut reaction -- whether it be a cop cars sirens or thug seemingly practicing his lamaze breathing techniques. and it's beautiful.

    11. Treasure
One of my favorite Thug features. Its a staple amongst my friends. The hook itself is crazy, but the verse is absoutely nuts. The flow, the energy, the writing...it's technically sound as well as jus tbatshit crazy and totally unhinged. HOW THE h--- A n----- LEAVE THE TREASURE WHEN THE TREASURE BRING THE BEZELS AND THE BEZELS WORTH A FOREIGN HOME?? WHO THE h--- ARE YOU YOU GON PLAY WIT ANY n----- IN MY BREW IM A s---t EM TILL HIS ARM GONE. Absolute insanity.

Zuse's verse is dope too -- I NEVA LEAVE THE TREASA IM THE SCOOOPA.

    12. Baby ft. Trae Tha Truth
Proof that Thug was an utter alien from the start. Just such a weird weird dude. I let the reaper get my souuuuul...I let the devil get my souuuul. His sense of rhythm really is a natural born gift. Faygo cream soda my choice, hear it in my voice...your main b---- wanna hear my voice it make her moist..hit that cat from the back hear her make a weiiird noise. He conjures up melodies out of thin air that other artists would k--- for, and never uses them again. He's been rapping about the same exact s--- for YEARS now and it never sounds old...Don't listen to this song often though cuz wtf is that other verse lol. London must have known he had something special with Thug even back then..their chemistry is undeniable (shoutout @Jet)

    13. 730
Certified blassik. One of the biggest bangers on Tha Tour. I forget that Thug carries MASSIVE songs like this, or See You, all on his own. Makes no sense. His writing is so concise, but always gripping. Blue! s---t out the coupe!. <---that's just fantastic lol. So frantic, so hectic...he creates the most appropriate atmosphere every time he records. Seven thiiiiirttttyyyyyyyyyyyy. Even though a lot of the song seems to be thug on auto-pilot (123456 i go seveeeen thirty), he still sneaks in clever and witty asides whenever you aren't paying attention. Come and enroll to the YSL school and that's where I'm the principal/I do not care if you slime for a dollar and change, its the principle. Sheesh.

    14. Paradise
One of thug's most underrated tracks from this year, along with "Pacifier." The ethereal Allen Ritter production, that gives thug space to bounces all over the place, the mesmerizing hook, the effortless rapping...it all adds up to one of Thug's best releases this year. This n----- talkin bout this, and this n----- talkin about that...I dont know who to believe. His control over his voice is honestly unparalleled. f--- a lake I got fish heeeereeee. His self-awareness is under appreciated. I got 3 strikes and I aint bowling n-----, pssh. If this is what we have to look forward to from Hitunes, then we are in for a h--- of a ride come 2016. All my ex-b------s might get embarrassed today.

    7. Drown (ft. Travis Scott) unfinished
Love that it's unfinished cuz no Travis (aside from background moaning). Is the beat Travis? Idk but it's really dope and would sound right at home on days before rodeo..but it was meant for days after? Thugs hook is great (I'm in the projects w/o pat, jewelry leave em blind like a bat). 54321 attack...b----. Pop a lol perc n relaaaaax...fits the beat in such an eerie yet soothing manner.

    2. Proud of Me
Despite being one of the 5 trillion leaks from this year, Proud of Me has some of the most mainstream/pop appeal of any Thug song to date. Flipping My Love by Route 94 for the hook, the song's backbone is this utterly infectious refrain -- which may seem sweet at first ("I know you gon be proud of me") but, beneath the saccharine surface, lies a foreboding theme of opposing law enforcement and imprisonment. As Thug cries to the heavens for La Flare to be freed from his most recent stint, he also makes sure to note that he would never snitch just to reduce his own sentence, so I'm sure he understands and respects Gucci's own time in jail. Thug claims he wouldn't tell, ever, but would you? For Thug, he's more afraid of "you and what you could get done" to him -- "you" in this scenario meaning those in his neighborhood aware of his fidelity (or infidelity) to the unwritten rules of the streets -- rather than jail itself. He'd rather pray for those in jail and keep quite in real life, because he knows that's what would make his mentors proud. And this is all just the hook. In typical thug fashion, the hook is more focused and insightful than the two verses, but the verses are nothing to scoff at. "Take care of that p----, scared to go in it like woods" is a GOAT opener and frequently quoted among my friends. Following "free Gucci!" with "I want the hoochie coochie/have a private party Bently boolin" is just the type of whimsical freedom we've come to love from Thug. Fantastic one liners are littered all throughout the track, including (but not limited to):

"Jump in it no kangaroo, gave that b---- a pouch"

"She like when I call her momma bae, I'm losin my voice I cannot spake"

"Whenever I do not see her she wanna fight
I just wanna hold her like a mic
No Tyson, I want one night and I wanna wife it
And buy it everything that it desires"

"When I saw her I was shot like an officer on duty"

"Why wouldn't I claim her when I put 20 bands in her ear?"

    4. About The Money
What else is there to even say about this track? In my opinion, this is the track post-Lifestyle that put Thug back in the mainstream. In general, the TI bosign was a strong one, and their work together since has been entertaining to say the least. TI may be the vet, but on wax its clear that Thug is the one doing all the heavy lifting. "Bustin' out the bando, a n----- jewlery real metal like a can opener" opens Thug, before declaring that he went from "rags to riches to a feature with Tip." And just like that, Thug's short verse comes and goes, but only to make way for one of the biggest hooks in recent memory. Both of TI's verses just feel like him trying to keep up after the monumental fashion in which Thug set off the track, and even though he manages not to drop the ball, the main reason to stick around after Thug's first verse is his post-hook, beginning with "I pack an 11, I pack an 11..." The adlibs themselves, from both Thug and Tip, make for endlessly enjoyable repeat listens, and the song as a whole is nothing short of a classic.

    3. Wanna Be Me
An abstract masterpiece, nothing short of ingenious. From the way he melds words ("carrot" vs "karot") and fuses sounds, to the way he flawlessly matches any given aesthetic while breathing to life new and stunning intricacies of his own, "Wanna Be Me" exhibits all that Thug at his weirdest, and most daring, has to offer. It's a song that simply needs to be experienced to be understood. He's "stupid flooded with them karots," and that's why "she chase a n----- down like rabbit." But if he can't find a place to properly bust a nut, he'll pour your "children down the sink" -- he is a savage after all. It just makes sense that this is Thugs favorite track on SS1. It's one of the most innovative things he's done to date.
