lol Rondo's triple doubles are so overrated. Sounds like nobody else in here has really watched him play this year.

Say whatever you want about his assist and rebound count but when you put up 2 points in 3 consecutive games and s---t 33% from the line for the year, you cant be considered top 10. Rondo has been a shell of himself since he returned from ACL surgery anyone who has watched him play consistently can see that.

Curry, Lillard, Parker, Rose, CP3, Westbrook, Wall, Lowry and Kyrie Irving are all probably better than Rondo right now.

Rondo's like a better version of Ricky Rubio imo, great at setting others up but can't score much. Still that's what a PG is supposed to be technically.

    excuse me?

Doesnt a top 10 PG make a team better? i dont have the exact numbers but the Celtics have a significantly better record without Rondo then they do with him these past few seasons.

Rockets picked up Corey Brewer, I was hoping the Cavs could pick him up but oh well.

Huge Kobe fan but he's been one of the worst clutch players in the league this year. He's had his moments and hit some big shots, but he's missed at least 3 potential game winners and has been taking bad shots and making bad passes that end up as turnovers late in games.

Also he's clearly tired and doesn't have the lift on his jump shot, shooting very poorly lately. Still had 8 rebounds and 8 assists but it's kinda sad to see him right now, clearly not his usual self. I don't know if it's the injury still or just he's not used to the minutes or what.

agree with this, but i look at it as some are anomolies. rondo is a really good rebounding PG. was a really good defender let's see if he gets back there. really good at distributing the ball almost to a fault because he passes up on his own offense. i think a big part too is he's missed a lot of time. another thing is a lot of people only focus on his lack of offense....the guy has never been a good shooter. so his shooting % isn't surprising nor is him scoring low. that's not him. he's never going to be a scoring PG. you're right he does well with people who can score...simply cause he's not that guy. but he is the guy that sees the court and will get them in good positions to score. he's a good pick and roll PG. he's regarded as having a high bball IQ which you need in a PG. he's good at running an offense and at the same time good at doing things off the cuff.

i actually thought it was a really good trade for dallas. they have guys who can score and a smart coach so i think this situation suites him perfectly. we're more like a hodge podge of pieces that's only the 1st act and we won't know how everything plays out until DA does something with those picks. i think it was time for him to move on. he was never going to do anything with a rebuilding team and frankly he probably would have walked so at least DA grabbed something for him.

as far as him being a top whatever PG. can't disagree with you guys. i can't say he's a top 10 PG right now. but i disagree with kon about taking rose over him. sorry but at least i can count on rondo playing in games.

Kobe once again was the main reason the Lakers lost tonight. In the old days he used to come in during the 4th of a close game and take over and lead the Lakers to a W. Nowadays he comes in late in a close game, forces bad shots, makes sloppy plays and whenever he messes up he usually looks at the ref or yells at him for not calling a foul.

Die hard Kobe fan but it's sad to watch him play right now. The effort is still there and always will be with someone as passionate as Kobe, but he's obviously not in NBA game shape and his timing is off too. I thought these things would improve as the year goes on, but they're actually getting worse. He's already skipping almost every practice and now they're talking about resting him certain games too, Kobe just isn't in shape for this season as weird as that is to say. Maybe it's due to the injuries cuz it's hard to believe it's due to lack of training from him since everyone knows he has an insane work ethic.

I'm not complaining cuz the Lakers need to lose to keep their draft pick and Kobe's the only real interesting story this year anyways, but he's clearly not helping the team get wins, in fact he's hurting their case for that big time. Nowadays he almost always takes more shots than he has points, often has 5+ turnover games and is even worse late in close games. If Kobe was the old Kobe in clutch situations this year, the Lakers would have AT LEAST 5 more wins, no exaggeration.

Never thought I'd be saying this stuff about Kobe but it's true right now. I will always support him and hope he improves but right now, he's playing like crap. Maybe this can be a 'get into shape and regain form' year for Kobe and he can have one more elite season next year as his final season.

kobe takes too many shots, but that's not his fault. if you had a scrub of a lineup like that wouldn't you? the guy is a winner, is used to winning, and won't accept less. im actually amazed he's been able to come back and have some semblence of his old self. never expected him to be the same as he was 3-4 years ago.

the lakers just have a talent problem. kobe has to be respected for not wanting to leave a "struggling future franchise" but this comes with the territory. not sure i see where you're coming from when you say conditioning, but i think a big part is his age and how many minutes he's playing. the guy isn't a machine. because they have no one else he's forced to play more and try to do too much. i do agree with your premise though...like last night when you're 7-23 it's time to stop shooting. only problem is there's no one else reliable.

^I'm almost positive you haven't watched hardly any Lakers games this year based off that post though. There's been plenty of games where other guys (like Young) have been shooting well and plenty of times where the Lakers played just fine as a team when Kobe was on the bench, then Kobe comes in and turns it into Kobe ball. That's how it goes almost every 4th quarter.

The Lakers clearly don't have a lot of talent but they would without question be playing better without Kobe right now as hard as that is for some to believe. Earlier in the season that might not be true but it definitely is now. Kobe should be playing about 30 mins a night, taking about 12-15 shots and getting 6-7 assists a game. That'd be the best way for him to play right now and still help the team out, but he wants to and thinks he can still be the hero every night. His brain still thinks he's a superstar but his body can't keep up.

Josh Smith just got waived by the Pistons....hope Lakers pick him up, they need a legit PF in the paint since Boozer isn't what he was expected to be once he arrived in LA.

Sounds like the Rockets are the favorites to get Smith, they've been looking at him for a while I guess and can offer him more money than other teams with some exception they have.

Can't see him going to the Lakers and there probably wouldn't be much of a purpose for this year anyways, although it would make things a little more exciting.
