d--- I didn't realize how bad off he was, also thought he was younger.

    Sad either way RIP.

Lot of losses this year in basketball Moses Malone, Anthony Mason, Jerome Kersey, Flip, Jerry Tarkanian, Dean Smith, Dave Myers etc...

Celtics have 7 primetime games this year(ESPN/TNT) and 6 more on NBA TV. Think they only had like 1 or 2 games on NBA TV and neither of them were originally scheduled.

I've seen a lot of experts saying the C's would be in the high 40's in wins this year. I'm expecting 45-46 wins max, but they are also the most likely to make a big splash at the deadline(due to roster size, 3 more 1st round picks in 16' and FA's not wanting to come to Boston) so that could change things.

If the C's are as good as some ppl think this year and the Nets and Mavs are as bad as some ppl think(we have both of their picks), then the Summer of 2016 could be great. I'm just wondering when a big name FA is gonna realize that the Celtics are in a great spot going forward and a place to consider coming too.

    \Rant over

    Ready for the season!

I was looking back on some old Kobe highlights earlier today and was watching his last game against MJ and I knew he killed them with 42 in the 1st half, but what I didn't know is that he was 14/16 from the field, 8/9 on 3's 4/4 from the FT line and had 40 points with 4:45 left in the 2nd quarter. 14/16 is ridiculous and he was basically just pulling up for 3's about 5 or 6 possessions in a row there at one point, having 40 points by that point in the game is just unheard of for anyone besides Wilt, even for him it probably was too.

Anyways I was very sad to hear about Flip yesterday, lived in Minnesota for a long time so I always kinda followed the wolves even though I'm a Lakers fan, can't imagine how Garnett must feel. I expect the Wolves to really be fired up tomorrow night for their season opener and then probably even more so for their first home game. Unfortunately I think the Wolves will beat the Lakers tomorrow night now, kinda expected the Lakers to win before that. It should be a good game though, both teams have good potential for the future and exciting young players.

Gonna watch some of the games tonight as well, glad to have the NBA back.

No lie I've been looking for the NBA predictions thread I made but this is fine.

He will return to top 15 status in the league, and make noise as a dark horse for MVP. I don't think he'll win or even be top 5, but he'll be part of the conversation.

my bold prediction is that miami isn't nearly as good as people think, and we contemplate trading whiteside by the deadline.. i don't want it to happen but i don't like his attitude.

This is that time of year where I need like 3 tv's going at once. Game 1 of the World Series, opening night of the NBA season and my Bruins...

Anyone have a good streaming site that doesn't ask you to disable ad block? The site I used to use turned to s---.

You're more than welcome to come hit this s--- man. Thibs was a very controlling coach as most people know. Hoiberg will open up the offense for the entire team. In general it seems like they're re-energized, kind of like what happened with Kerr & GS last season. Starting Niko at the 4 will give him and Jimmy bigger driving lanes, and he's preached pace all pre season. As soon as the other team scores or off a miss or turn it over, Derrick is gone and the team will follow, letting him decide to push it all the way for a bucket, or react and make a play, instead of Thibs' method of calling a play every time down and grinding for a shot. Derrick has said plenty of times he loves the freedom he has in this offense. This is the 1st off season in 2 years where he hasn't had to worry about rehabbing and can just focus on getting better. He lost 9 pounds in the off season, getting his weight down from 212 to 203, same as his MVP season. I've been waiting for this moment for 3 years, and I think it's finally about to happen.

Ya I don't need League Pass because obviously my teams games are all on the local station, and I've always been able to find streams for other games I want to watch.

League Pass is free first week anyways. Just sucks because the NBA games are probably last on my agenda tonight.

good for d-rose, bad for the bulls imo. jimmy butler as your best defender on the floor??? then who? gasol? he's getting up there in age. i think you need to start noah simply for defense. but who knows... have faith in coach hoiberg, he's great and knows what he's doing

Snell is a very good defender, he just had issues with consistency on offense. Derrick isn't great, but he's gotten such a bad rep for his defense that he's almost underrated on that end. In 2011, our team would get out to quick leads, and our bench mob anchored by Asik & Taj would put the clamps on teams for long stretches, so I think Noah to the bench could be a really great move. He'll still get plenty of crunch time minutes, similar to Iggy. I feel confident saying that for the most part, the potential short comings on defense will be minor compared to the improvements on offense.

i wish everybody would stop giving stephen a and skip bayless attention, whether good or bad. if you find either of them entertaining you should re-evaluate the way you watch sports.
