Jeff Green? No way. Honestly, the Knicks front office hyped this season to maybe get to the playoffs, realistically it was a long shot with this group, It was about FA next year to make this team better and a real shot at being a contender and even Melo knew that. Amare/Bargs come off the books and with 31 mil in cap space in the summer anything can happen. They haven't failed with it yet this was part of the plan, maybe not to go get the #1 pick this year and be horrible but they didn't plan on contending anyway. Give melo an ELITE PG and defenders and that can be dangerous. NY had a 54 win team a few years ago before Dolan blew it up and fired grunwald after his good work. New regime and Phil has a plan and hes doing what he can. Melo can co exist with a star, just not one with knee problems that can't play a full season or full game minutes anymore.

You dont remember when Melo played with Iverson? 1-8 record in the playoffs.

Its not that hard Mikey, Jeff Green is a can. Just using him as an example because they play the same position.

I mean they have 5 wins in the East bruh, rly not that hard to do better then that w/o that ball hog. I was basically saying you could plug anyone in and they would be better. Melo is a cancer, shocking that you Knicks fans havent figured that out.

a 54 win team that won a playoff series and would have beat Indiana if Melos shoulder was 100% after KG injured it in the first round of playoffs tells me he is no cancer and with the right players around him you can win. Next season barely anyone from that core team was left after Dolan blew it up. He is no cancer, Ill make my decision when Melo gets a proven team around him in NYC.

They beat the washed Celtics and no they wouldnt have beaten the Pacers lol.

Im sorry but there is no excuse to have 5 wins almost half way through the season when the East is garbage. Cancer, not a winner, however you want to word it his career playoff record is 23-43. For a guy who was considered top 5 for years thats pretty terrible.

Melo had a horrible series because his shoulder was messed up from that first series. In my mind they would have won or at least forced that game 7 but Melo hurt that year didn't help that Pacers series. Everyone has their own opinion of Melo, until he gets a team in NYC that I can consider a contender with great pieces around him ill make my decision. He hasn't gotten that yet.

theres a big difference between sixers iverson and nuggets iverson. if you get the common theme here, he played with stars past their prime never in them like other superstars we know.

Obviously wasnt prime Iverson but im almost certain he was still leading the league in scoring when he was traded to Denver.

Imagine Chris Paul being the best player on a team in the East that was 5-32? lol nah me neither.

and the years after he was averaging career lows in scoring. Chris paul gets the pass because he had good regular season records these past few years which means nothing. Melo missed the playoffs for the first time last year, it will be his second time this year. Chris Paul has missed the playoffs more than twice already in his carrer. But i get it, one plays in New York (boston people hate everything new york related) the other doesn't so he gets the pass.

I love Chris Paul as a player but boy gets the biggest pass in the NBA. Both Melo and Dwight have gotten their fair share of criticism and have at least made the conference finals.

Anybody blaming the knicks problems on Melo is delusional.

Melo will never be the centerpiece of a championship team but neither will Chris Paul

exactly, i come across as a melo defender on here but that's not the case i critique him just like any other player. n----s love to single out players especially when it comes to defense but give other n----s passes, the whole nba does this tho.

James Harden gets critiqued for his defense but you dont hear anything about stephen curry etc.

Oh really Iverson's scoring numbers went down when he played with Melo? lol tell me more. Im not here giving Chris Paul a pass, I was talking about Melo. You wont find me praising Chris Paul lol. And i dont hate everything about NY, but Melo certainly is one of them.

:whoa: Stephen Curry has improved a lot on defense though. 5th best defensive rating in the NBA and second in steals (even though steals don't always indicate great defense). I wouldn't say he's an elite defender at all but he's not a liability and he's carried his own weight compared to last year. Harden's gotten a little better too but he just lacks defensive work ethic and focus, which is inexcusable for a player of his caliber.

yeah i'll tell you more, any scorer who plays with another scorer stats will go down. But there's a difference between a 2 or 3 point differential (which you see now with stars teaming up) and 8 or 9. Iverson got old and his body broke down from the physical style he played throughout his years, that had nothing to do with melo.

curry definitely improved this year, so did harden tho but that stigma is glued to him as it wasn't for curry the years prior to this one.

he just said he hated melo so it's pointless to go back and fourth with this dude if his hatred for melo is weighing down on his opinion.

ay boston dude, here's your celtic god. http://www.theplayerstribune.com/paul-pierce-five-toughest-players-ive-ever-guarded/

    hate that :laff:

James Harden has played very good defense this year, the "James Harden doesn't play defense" s--- is pretty much reserved for people who don't watch him play at this point and want to say something relevant/funny. Rockets are second in defensive efficiency and it's a lot due to how much he's stepped it up defensively this year. Probably the MVP tbh.

Where are you getting 8 or 9 points? Iverson put up 25 points and then played a FULL season where he put up 26.5 with Melo. He was always around 30-31 PPG. And yo i'll tell you more son, look up Kevin Love, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce's numbers. Ya they didnt dip 2 or 3 points when they joined up with other all stars.

What does that have to do with anything though? lol stop getting your feelings hurt, Melo is one of the best scorers in the game. Hes just not a winner "NY dude". Scary how much these cans are defending this guy when they have 5 wins this year. Yiiikes...
