It's a 6 week recovery time and Kobe had the same injury before about 10 years ago and was only out about a week. Obviously he'll be out for the year since that was the plan soon anyways, but I doubt it's the end of his career. He'll try to come back for 1 last run next year unless there's another injury we don't know about too, which is possible the way this is going.

d--- was hoping the Celtics could gain ground on the Lakers in the tank. Gonna be hard to crack that top 4 of NY, Philly, Minn. and LA.

Minnesota's finally getting healthy (Pek came back, Rubio and Martin will be back soon) and the Sixers are playing a little better, so it's possible they can win some games. I have hope for the Lakers being as high as 3rd in the tank, but can't imagine them passing NY and probably not Philly either tbh.

@Jack Burton He's out 2 months for an injury to his thumb on his non shooting hand? Jesus lol...If Kobe was younger with that injury, I doubt he'd miss a game.

Gonna miss Kobe's crazy work ethic and toughness, NBA today is so wimpy.

Kobe is an annoying old man who needs to retire at this point, lol @ him saying that he can't name 5 players on the Celtics... he should just retire then because he's obviously not taking basketball very seriously

I will give him credit for still finding new ways to not include his teammates in the offense tho

^He had 17 assists a few games ago in 32 minutes, he's been setting up his teammates a ton lately and had made that his priority. :emoji_sleeping:

'not taking basketball very seriously' has never been a way to describe Kobe lol.

*edit* Also I think he was trying to pass to Ed Davis in that clip you posted. If he was trying to score, I think he would have gone for the reverse layup.

You're not an NBA player, you don't need to know who's on which team. It's cool if you don't prepare for games, not so much if you need to you know... watch film and prepare for your competition.

Lol @ hating. I love Kobe, and usually his attitude. I'm observing. He's a grumpy old man. You guys would agree if you weren't permanently glued to the tip of his d-ck. Time to go, it's best for everyone.

It's not surprising that you can't name Celtics players though. Whenever I, or anyone else brings up a team besides the Lakers you guys are ghost. Aren't there some good Lakers forums out there?

    KG still getting votes :rejoice:

Very sad to see Kobe go out like this. Retirement is probably in his best interest. One of the goats no doubt.

Good for Lowry. He was trailing DWade at one point. Now he's starting.

I watch plenty of other NBA games besides the Lakers, I've watched most of the Blazers game this year and other random games too. Celtics just beat them lol, great for the tank for the Lakers.

Also I've said pretty negative things about Kobe this year, definitely been fair in regards to that. Obviously Kobe's not the same anymore but the last couple weeks he's looked like he's kinda figured out the type of player he still can be, so this really sucks to see. I still think he'll be back for 1 more run next year unless his body just isn't able to do so. This is an injury that once it's 100%, it shouldn't continue to bother him like the leg and achilles injuries. Anything's better than the knees/legs.
