I say Warriors in seven, only because Game 7 will be in Oakland.

Kinda funny stat of the day... Anderson Varejão is literally guaranteed a ring no matter who wins this series. Lucky him.

Lol I saw that, 1st player ever to play on both teams in the finals in the same season, pretty weird.

Warriors in 5 is my prediction. I actually forgot they had changed the finals format back to 2-2-1-1-1 instead of 2-3-2, I had to see the schedule to realize this. I'm glad they did though, thought the 2-3-2 was kinda stupid.

Final numbers are in: OKC-Golden State averaged 15.9 million viewers; cable’s most viewed NBA game ever and TNT’s most watched program ever.

Wow, not a huge surprise I guess. Huge game between 2 exciting teams plus it was a holiday so more people had the day off than usual.

I think the Cavs at least get it to 6. Especially if they steal one in GS. I love that they switched the format back to 2-2-1-1-1 as well. Might be my favorite thing Adam Silver has done as a Commish so far. I believe they changed it to 2-3-2 back in the day to accommodate traveling but with how common flying is now, they were able to change it back.

Man that 2-3-2 s--- never made sense to me. Idc if you've got home court, having to play 3 straight on the road is a huge disadvantage.

Discuss the finals in this thread fellas. https://forum.sectioneighty.com/2016-nba-finals-thread-game-1-cavs-warriors-6-2-9pm-est.t58442/

Yeah plus the NBA has lots of time between games usually so travel is really no excuse, keeping it 2-3-2 really made no sense and changed how the series could go, makes no sense to play one way all playoffs then switch it for the finals.

Adam Silver > Stern, but that's an easy one for me. No one could ever be lower than Stern to me after that CP3 basketball reasons bs.

So if Cleveland wins he gets one? What is it any player that was on their roster at all this year gets one? That's f----- up. Pretty sure the NFL doesn't work like that.

@redsoxx check out this potential Celtics/Bulls Jimmy Butler trade Bleacher Report posted.

Boston Celtics Receive: SG/SF Jimmy Butler

Chicago Bulls Receive: SG Avery Bradley, F/C Jonas Jerebko, PG Terry Rozier, No. 3 pick, No. 16 pick

I love Bradley, but no way I'm taking this trade. Not even close. 3rd pick in this draft is a straight up crap s---t.

Id do that from the Celtics side yea. If that pick was 1 or 2 id probably rather just take my chances with 8-10 years of Ingram or Simmons because we saw what the Celtics were with and without Bradley.

Im pretty down on the C's right now, its pretty clear that they should have tanked for 3 years prior to the 16'-18' Nets picks. They are never ever gonna get a top pick, if there's a 2 man draft they will get the 3rd pick, if its a 3 man draft they would have landed at 4. Its a joke, but those high lotto picks(not so much in s--- years like this) is how you build a team when you've NEVER drawn a big name FA. If the 17' Nets pick wasnt a swap i would say trade IT/Bradley and start the rebuild over (would never happen but still). I like Butler because he has years on his contract, but i dont see the point in going after him with what its gonna cost (more then whats you mentioned, probably the 17 swap too). Durant isnt gonna sign here, Horford might but hes old and him and Bulter make us a ceiling ECF team (if that). Lebron is still gonna run the East for 3-4 more years, which is long enough for IT and Bradley to either leave or get overpaid in Boston.

I'm a big Brad Stevens guy but hes too good of a coach for a team that should have been rebuilding. Ainge traded Rondo and Jeff Green in a tank move a few years ago and Stevens took us to the playoffs despite that. If they had just missed the playoffs then end up with Myles Turner or Justise Winslow( who they offered Charlotte (at 9) 6 picks for and probably Miami the same deal.

Its been 2 weeks since the lottery and the fact that the Lakers have gotten the 2nd pick in back to back years and will still probably end up with Westbrook next year makes steam come out of my ears. Lakers will probably tank for the 17' class again and still not lose the pick to Philly, its BS.

Ughh thank god for the Red Sox lol

Lol I get you hate the Lakers but come on, they were 3rd worst last year and got 2nd pick, they were 2nd worst this year and got 2nd pick..What's the issue here? You act like they jumped from 12th to 1st 2 years in a row..

Lottery system is stupid anyways and they should get rid of it imo, I get that they don't want teams to tank on purpose for a pick, but teams do that anyways..the lottery system doesn't help that.

They were 4th worst last year and moved up to 2 and then stayed at 2 in a 2 player draft. The issue is the Celtics have gotten screwed for 30 years in the lottery and your team gets gifted in back to back years and still remain a draw for free agents. Not only that but we're about to watch Ben Simmons Eli his way to the Lakers because he can get a better shoe deal there.

You never know, whoever you guys pick at 3 might turn out to be a stud.

Moral of the story here is it's basically impossible to contend in the NBA unless you have at least a top 15 player.

Yea i wouldnt bet on it. Everything that could have gone wrong since the season ended did. Bradley got hurt(to go along with Olynyk and Crowder's pre-existing injuries), we lost to the F'n Hawks in 6 and couldnt have looked worse doing it, ended up not getting into the top 2(in a 2 player draft) and then OKC went on a run ruling out even the tiniest chance we had of getting Durant.

C's will probably take Bender and then he'll turn into the next Barngnani. At this point i would trade down 4-5 spots in hopes of getting a 2017 1st rounder and hope someone loves a Bender or Dunn and that Buddy Hield falls.

Weird Teague only has 1 year left, at least Noel is restricted. They could probably get the 3rd pick from the Celtics(i wouldnt do that but they might) and just take Dunn and have him for the next 8-10 years. Plus Noel is from just outside of Boston.

Im all for Philly competing next year and dropping the Nets down another slot.

Weird trade for both teams. Teague is just pretty good but nothing special, and Nerlens hasn't shown the potential we all know he has/had. Maybe Noel pans out, but he's gonna need to be a little better. Kinda reminds me of a poor mans Whiteside, if I had to compare.
