I think he stays, but it won't completely k--- us if he walks. He's good, but he doesn't play great P&R defense and in today's league you need great P&R D to be successful.

I sort of want Whiteside on the Lakers but i'm also nervous about it. I feel long term it could be a bad investment and he could lose interest/his game declines eventually after the big deal. Plus he's in foul trouble pretty often and isn't a threat offensively, I don't know it's risky giving him that much money but probably still worth the gamble I suppose. I'd rather have someone like Horford though.

I was just gonna say I think the Lakers are a huge target for him. Hassan knows the Heat were the only team to give him a chance and gets along great with a lot of the players. (especially Wade, which is important) Sadly, I think he values the market and money more than he does winning or being loyal, so LA is an ideal spot.

I hope he stays in here. He's exciting to watch and also a huge playmaker on defense. He may not have all the moves or skills yet but you can see the progression he's made since The Heat have been working with him. Noah or Harford would be nice too but in my opinion aren't as close to as good as Whiteside can become once he learns some more offensive/defensive moves.

Yeah Whiteside is a solid offensive player too with a very underrated jumper. He's not just alley-oops and dunks.

A little overrated on the defensive side because blocks aren't everything, but I would love to have a guy back that can drop a triple double (with blocks!) on any given night.

Apparently his first meeting is with the Blazers, ugh I really hope they don't get him.

I do think he's leaving Miami though based off the quotes I've read from him.

I've looked into it more these past 15 minutes and I think it's about 50/50 he leaves or stays. Teams like the Lakers, Mavs, and Blazers are all gonna offer him way more money with, outside of Portland, just as good or better markets than Miami.

We have to resign Wade and Joe Johnson with our 40 million in Cap space and maybe resign Deng. Either way we're only gonna be able to offer Whiteside something in the 15-20 mil range.
