Fisher is the man and played with more heart than anyone I've ever seen other than Kobe, but d--- please stay retired lol. Can't see much point of a return at this point, I assume he'd try to be a backup PG on a contending team or something? I guess he could provide decent leadership for the locker room, he's good at that kinda thing. But his defense was getting worse and worse as he got older(and was never great to begin with), can't imagine how it'd be now.

I liked D Fish too, but wasn't his lack of leadership/accountability one of the main reasons he failed in NY? I remember the story of him flying out to LA to see his girl, then showing up late to practice the next day.

Oh I don't know tbh, didn't pay much attention to how he did as a coach in NY. You might be right, I was just talking about when he was a player.

But yeah that sounds pretty irresponsible if he did that.

i still remember that miracle shot fisher made in 2004 against the spurs i think it was.

i admire his desire to try to play again, but i'm sure he realizes it's a loooooong shot for a team to show interest in him at this point of his career. he obviously wasn't even that good during his best years---so why try to make a comeback now?

He wasn't very good in the sense his numbers weren't great, but he did a lot of important things. He hit big shots on a regular basis, was a locker room leader and played with a ton of heart. I don't know this for sure, it's kinda just a theory of mine but I think he helped keep the Shaq/Kobe beef under control for a while there too..

But you're right about the shot vs. the Spurs. One thing people forget about that is the couple sequences before were amazing too, Kobe hit what could have been a game winner, then Duncan hit a VERY difficult shot which should have been the game winner, then D Fish did the unthinkable..This game was amazing. Here's that full sequence if you're curious.

i agree with what you said here. he was never a player who had a big impact on the game, but like you said he hit many big shots eespecially for a role player and he always seemed to show up when you needed him the most. and if i remember correctly, kobe had/has a big appreciation for him too. i think they're pretty close.

but yeah don't get me wrong, i've always liked Dfish, i just think him trying to make a comeback at this point doesn't make much sense

they said that durant and westbrook haven't talked to each other since durant made the decision to switch teams. i'm glad to hear that.

today's NBA needs rivalries like they use to have back in the day. it makes the league more interesting and fun to watch
