Good article about Air Gordon's challenge of transitioning into a small forward.

Looking forward to seeing how he does tomorrow and throughout the season!

Apparently Pop asked Kobe last season if he could mentor Kawhi, and he ended up training with him all summer. If he can play close to this level on offense GS might be in big trouble long term.

i saw a diff kawhi last night, this is probably why. I think that comment durant made of kawhi being a "system player" motivates kawhi everytime he goes up vs durant. Last night, he had something reminiscent of the mamba mentality. Dude went for the warriors throat every time down the court, and he was relentless defensively as well.

Saw on twitter Kawhi had a pull up that looked exactly like Kobe, that training's definitely showing already not just in his game, but his mind set too as KVP said above me.

Yeah was thinking the same thing as I was watching. Even Pop after the game said he tells Pop what he wants to run, if he wants the screen or doesn't and things like that. Warriors should be very afraid he can come close to being this ruthless night in and night out.

Also shout out Kobe Bean, love that he's helping young guys like Kyrie & Kawhi take that next step. I'm sure there's a lot of things skill wise he can teach them, but the mentality is the difference.
Yeah that little between the legs, hesi pull up on Iggy was all Kobe. Kawhi did not have that last year.

yea mad respect to kobe. I think one of the main reasons pop wanted kobe to mentor him was to bring more fire out of him. Just being around Kobe will make people more competitive (unless youre dwight). You can clearly see that Kawhi is taking over control of this team. Spurs are honestly the model franchise in sports. The culture from the owner all the way down to the 15th man on the bench is is unreal.

That hunger was really the only thing missing from his game too which is just unfair to have now. In a league with tons of elite athletes that can be the difference between great & legendary.

Can't even imagine being a Spurs fan. Gotta be great to go from David Robinson right to Old Man River Walk and be a title contender for literally 20 years straight.
