A shame he couldn't go out playing. On the plus side, glad we don't have to worry bout em anymore

Lost all respect for Nash over the past couple years, for a while there he couldn't even return a phone call even though he was making 9 or 10 mill a year or whatever, totally robbed the Lakers. He also could have retried before this year and saved the Lakers half his contract but wanted the money.

It really does almost seem the Suns and Nash did this to get revenge on the Lakers lol, that's how bad of a deal it ended up being for LA. I saw a stat that they paid him about 430k per game he actually played with the team. Even in those games, he wasn't his usual self. Lakers also gave up 4 draft picks, safe to say they got robbed lol.

As much as I hate the Lakers and love Nash, you couldn't be more right.

And Kobe could have taken 10 million less a year as an old injury prone player. Cant be mad at Nash for cashing in just like i cant be mad at Gerald Wallace for doing the same.

Kobe's earned it for what he's done for the Lakers, it's like a Jeter situation. I'm not mad at Nash for it but if he knew he was done, would have been the right thing to do imo to save the team half the money especially since he gave them nothing during his time here.

Either way the Lakers had enough cap room to sign Lebron or Melo this year so I guess money wasn't the issue, Jim Buss just didn't do anything really.

Yep I thought so too, there were a few reasons it didn't happen but to me one of the biggest mistakes was gettin D'antoni as the coach. They really put all their eggs in one basket thinking Nash would be the savior and run the offense to perfection like he did in Phoenix with D'antoni. But unfortunately even when Nash was healthy, he wasn't doing his usual 'make others better and get them great looks' stuff, he was often just a spot up shooter. Also a major problem with D'antoni led teams getting far is he hardly ever practices defense and you're not gonna win a championship that way. So I think looking back on it, putting everything into D'antoni/Nash was obviously a mistake, Dwight certainly wasn't perfect either but he was better than most Laker fans give him credit for and played through a back injury too. I'm not mad at Dwight for his effort/contributions.

Anyways, tonight's sixers/lakers game is about as big as it gets from a draft perspective. Sixers got the Lakers pick if it falls outside the top 5, absolute must lose for both teams, especially the Lakers.

They better not mess around tonight, get the L by any means necessary. I'm worried about Jeremy Lin, he always seems to show up big in these must lose games. Wish Byron would play Sacre 48 minutes tonight, do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Ya but the difference is Jeter's money was a small % of their total payroll as there is no cap in baseball. Kobe saving the Lakers that money would have went a long way towards being competitive again, whether that was last off-season or this one.

Spurs destroying the Hawks in Atlanta and the Hawks aren't resting anybody.

Spurs are definitely back to their usual self the last 15 games or so, they'll be very dangerous for the playoffs. One fluke loss to the Knicks doesn't matter tbh.

Watching some of OKC/Miami too hoping OKC can win it, up by about 7 so far.

Watching the same game... We are playing like s--- and I have no idea how we're keeping it this close. Whiteside has done a good job of staying on the court lately, but it has just been such a physical game.

Edit: Enes Kanter's goal is to k--- the Heat every time we play him. I swear lol. He's always going off against us. Granted many big men do, but he stands out.

I watched that Heat/Blazers game a few days ago and d---, D Wade looked like his old self again in the 4th quarter, what a show he was putting on hitting very difficult clutch shots.

I love Hassan Whiteside and think he deserves all the hype, but he has a long ways to go if he wants to become an elite center... It starts with his attitude. I thought the fines, suspension, and Wade calling him out was gonna be enough, but today against OKC he proved me wrong. I have to use two hands to count how many fast break dunks/layups they had just because Whiteside was upset about not getting a call or missing a shot, failing to get back on defense. Hopefully his maturity issues are cleaned up soon. He's annoying the s--- out of me.

Wade put on a show in the second half of that game. I was also watching it (haven't missed a Heat game in years) and that was one of the best offensive games we played this season. Gotta love seeing vintage Wade. It was also one of the better, if not the best game I saw Goran Dragic play since he's been in Miami.
