Team success is the big thing. Harden's team is a legit top 2-3 team in the West this season. I hate that the MVP voters look at it this way, but they do.

Who's the last MVP to not be at least a top 4 seed? I don't know tbh, it never happens. Not to mention Harden's stats are pretty d--- close to what Russ is doing and i t's translating to more wins.

Kareem got it when the Lakers missed the playoffs. Moses Malone won two when the Rockets were a mid-tier west team in the w/l column, but yeah. It never happens. Harden definitely deserves it too if you consider their entire team transformation is not only the coach, but hugely him as well.

Yeah he still needed like 10 more games played this year to even be eligible. Saric might even take it home if he keeps playing like this though and then Simmons could possibly take it next year.

Idk he's always struck me as a long term thinker like Bron and I think he wants to give himself a shot to win ROY so it can help him utilize the Derrick Rose rule and get a big extension after his rookie deal.

I'm not even worried because we're in such a good position over the next few years to really build this team. This has the feeling of being the last year we're at the bottom of the barrel. Saric has been playing amazing, Holmes has as well. I don't think a lot of people understand just how good Ben Simmons is. Once we get him on the court with Embiid who can hopefully stay healthy (teach the man how to land), and grab a scorer in this upcoming draft, it is going to be such a difference.

Like I said with Simmons, some people don't understand how good he really is, he's going to make everyone around him better.

Saric definitely ROY with Embiid out.

Embiid is still a big question mark, he's getting hurt doing routine things, 2 broken bones in his foot and a meniscus tear before even playing 30 games is a huuuuge red flag, not to mention the stuff he dealt with in college.

He's better than Oden but like Greg maybe his body just wasn't meant to handle NBA basketball.

I think the biggest thing for him right now is learning how to land. He's always landing awkwardly. Maybe there's more to it but I'm just praying it's something simple like that.
