Kyrie had a 30.7% usage rate compared to 29.2% for Kemba. Virtually the same except Kyrie benefits from the space provided by Lebron & K Love.

Usage rate is the amount of points you create for your team by scoring or assisting so it's no surprise when their stats are very similar.

It's definitely a debate who had a better season last year.

I think I got caught up a little with Kyrie being a household name.

So much for Phil not actively trying to move Porzingis. Boston has the pieces to make it happen, I think they should.

IDK if I'd put him in the top tier of PGs. I think that's reserved for the superstar PGs like Curry & CP3. I probably agree that Kyrie has proven to be a tier above Kemba; with him being a star tier PG and Kemba being a all star tier PG.

I think that initial argument applies more to a KD than a Kyrie. Like KD stats have dropped in OKC and that can be attributed to his 3 all star teammates. We know he's capable of being better than a 25 ppg scorer.

Kyrie, however, might not be any better w/o LeBron and Love. In fact it can be argued he'd be worst, no only in terms of W/L but statistically.

If you look at Kyrie statistics and his on court game he's basically the same player regardless of the talent around him with some exceptions.

Statistically he's 23-25 points per game and 5-6 assist per game regardless of who he plays with. He's done this when he was playing with Dion Waiters and he's done this when he's playing with LeBron. The only difference is efficiency. Playing with 2 all stars improves that.

On court he's a ball dominant iso scorer who's an average facilitator and below average defender. This was true before Lebron came and it's true now. The difference is it doesn't matter as much now because Lebron is very good at the things Kyrie is bad at and Kyrie is good at the few deficiencies in Lebron's game.

I think Kyrie overall has been a better player than Kemba and his ability to score overcomes the fact that Kemba maybe a better all around player but I don't think the reason they're statistically close is because Kyrie's output is being limited by his teammates. Kemba just had an incredible season and Kyrie just is who he is.

Really good interview with Dray on his approach to defending some of the best players in the NBA. He talks about how he defends Russ, Harden, Bron, LA, & Boogie which is basically an entire starting lineup.

Dray taking being able to guard all 5 positions to the next level by defending 5 different players on 1 possession.

I mean if you ask me I'm taking Kyrie but it's very close, really just used Kemba to point out that I don't think Kyrie is in that top tier with Steph CP Russ etc.
Idk bruh he really hasn't shown much in 2 years of being a PG on lottery team. If you got it it would be obvious at this point. He can still be a nice player but he'll never be THAT guy.

Hoping Phil trades us Porzingis for the 3rd pick and whatever starter. I'd gladly take that.
