AD is not in this conversation. Maybe one day.

Kawhi just isn't. People overrate perimeter defense but his inclusion isn't the most egregious.

Lets focus on Westbrook. WTF is Westbrook better than Harden at? How the h--- is Westbrook better than Harden.

I dont think you realize just how good AD is

thoroughly outplayed him in a head to head series and all playoffs, lead a worse team to a better record, can actually play both sides of the ball, and is close to as polished offensively. please delete that s--- u said about perimeter defense lol...

I dont see how people can still say harden is better after this season, its pretty evident if you actually watched the games

AD is great. He has some work to do offensively. He's not up to par with the superstars on this list.

The only thing Kawhi has on Harden is defense and efficacy in the traditional sense.

His basic stats paint the picture of him being a way more efficient player but in terms of their ability to score the ball TS% shows Harden is the superior player at accumulating points (by a slight margin).

The Spurs are not a worst team than the Houston Rockets. Just the fact they are led by Pop negates this claim. IDK what you were thinking. The players on the Houston Rockets look good because Harden allows them to. Ryno is never asked to do something that isn't within his skill set. Pat Bev isn't asked to facilitate the offense. Trevor isn't asked to create off the dribble. The Rockets have a bunch of 3 point shooters who are at best ok in a few other areas and it works because Harden is the far superior playmaker and makes all the players around him better. Kawhi hasn't shown he could do that yet.

As for kawhi's defense. It's overall impact is overrated. The style of defense Draymond plays is the most effective because it's the hardest to game plan against. Rim protection is the next best because it involves a player defending the zone of the floor where the most shots are taken and made. And a great rim protector makes the players around him better. As for a perimeter defender like Kawhi, he's essentially a CB on the court. He plays man v man. And just like you can do in football, you can scheme him out the game by simply taking the man he's defending, put him on the opposite side of the play, and play 4v4 basketball. More and more teams have done this this season and it's a reason why the Spurs as a team performed worst defensively with him on the court.

The Westbrook argument isn't actually an argument. Saying Westbrook is better because he is better isn't an explanation. All you have to do is give me something Westbrook is better at or a reason as to why

Kawhi is a borderline perfect basketball player, you're spending too much effort trying to discredit what an unbelievable defensive weapon he is.

Give me the guy who can knock down the shot to finish a game and then take the soul of his opponents right after.

Not discrediting it. Just stating that individual perimeter defense is overrated and it's not a good determinate of what great player is better than another.

Now if we were talking about Big Men and interior defense/ability to guard the PnR then that's a good convo. It can be argued guys like Gobert and DeAndre offer more value to their team than a KAT or Joker.
