I know they had to extend him but wow. He has a ways to before he's worthy of this max deal

Rose, Blake, John Wall, Anthony Davis, and probably Wiggins were all better prospects than Simmons and were drafted after KD.

Embiid got like 100 mill or whatever and has barely even stepped on the court, welcome to the world of today's NBA contracts.

yeah but his contract is also 34 pages long with a lot of details that protect the sixers. they just wanted to lock him down because we would all rather die than watch him play and be healthy for another team.

I think the only way the Sixers get out of it is if he re-injures his back or foot. Even then they can only cut him after I believe 3 years?

Locking him up now no matter the price is better because he could've signed a restricted deal on the open market for only 4 years vs 5 filled with all sorts of poison pills/trade kickers/clauses.

We have the option to void Embiid’s contract once it takes effect if the he misses 25 or more regular season games or plays fewer than 1,650 minutes due to feet or back injuries.

But he got traded for a player better and younger than him who will demand around the same amount of money... What was Ainge supposed to do? I hate the Celtics, but Ainge didn't have much of a choice
And yea you're right, I thought I said all-around prospect, but even then, Davis has an argument

well see IT had the advantage of having a team system around him, now kyrie will have that other than a team built around lebron

isaiah was better last year than kyrie ever has been or likely will ever be

the trade makes sense considering the injury and his age, but isaiah is/was definitley better than kyrie

Yes. Offensive and defensively he is. Whether he’ll thrive in a more structured system to the extent IT did is debatable.

Ty Lue said Bron may not play in the season opener which imo means he almost definitely won't play. They like resting him throughout the year anyways and can't see them taking any chance for the first game.

IT had a defensive team built around him, that saved him from getting exposed on that end every night. Still happened a lot but Bradley saved his a--- and guarded the other teams best PG’s a lot.

    Absolutely

IT is a horrible, HORRIBLE defender.. Like I know Kyrie isn't the best, but the difference between him and IT is still pretty d--- big.

Kyrie also has a longer track record... especially in the playoffs. I know IT doesn't have nearly the amount of experience Kyrie does, but that doesn't matter, it's still true.

Also, even if Kyrie's worse than IT, Ainge wasn't about to give him the max so he traded him
