So basically the lakers are taking the L this year to build their team for next year, at least from what fox sports news analysts are all agreeing on. Building the team with Lebron is Great but the only bad thing is building a team the next few years Lebron will be pushing what like 35-36. Lakers going to have to hope Lebron will still be a beast the older he gets. I think Lebron will be still great, he seems like a freak of nature type of athlete.

Celtics going to have literally no competition in the east now. They would get that lucky lol If Lebron stayed in Cleveland and their management made moves they would easily win the eastern conference another consecutive year in a row. I guess Philly will keep getting better and will probably root for them in the eastern conference. Idk if they’ll be able to beat Celtics just yet. Although, that Tatum could be another Isiah Thomas. Just a one year wonder. It wouldn’t surprise me. Because I remember Celtic fans thinking Thomas was the next big star.

How would the Cavs easily win the East? Hayward and Kyrie were hurt and the Celtics still should have won that series. Cavs were an aging team with no young talent, while the Celtics were the opposite. They had no cap room and pretty much no assets that would have yielded a significant player.

Trent make it a little tougher for me to put you in a body bag plz. That Tatum comment is embarrassing. Not sure what’s more of a reach acting like Celtics fans thought IT was “the next big thing” or that because they thought that, it just correlates to Tatum.

Either way you should get off the hard drugs.
    Lori meh not sold

Idk Tom is the GOAT so w/e he wants

I think fans definitely got ahead of themselves with IT a little bit but comparing him to Tatum is pretty ridiculous lol. Tatum is 20...

I can respect LeBrons decision to go to the Lakers. He made it for his family which is quite a selfless thing to do, but at the same time it definitely benefits his brand.

But for his legacy Philadelphia was clearly the best fit for him. I dont think the team around him at the Lakers are close to what could have been in Philly. When he's close to retirement, heavily declined; Embiid, Simmons, Saric and possibly Fultz will be hitting their prime, enough to contend for champs without depending on him.

Not only that, Philly has such a rich history in the NBA.

Ingram and Ball are both 20, Kuzma is 22, Hart is 23..Lakers young core will be hitting their prime at the same time as the sixers..Bron will also accelerate their growth you'd assume, when Bron's deal is up in 3-4 years, the young core should be ready to take over by then.

Also Bron with Embiid doesn't seem like a good fit at all imo, and Simmons can't s---t which is what Bron needs around him. Lakers also are a better destination to attract free agents, get another star in there this year or next to team with him.

    Lakers don't???

They're young and promising but do you thing their ceiling is has high as the Sixers young core?

Why do people not think LeBron and Embiid won't be a good fit? LeBron has never played with a dominant Center before, I see great potential. Embiid is already an elite defender, while LeBron has stopped playing D. Philly will also have a bunch of shooters around him with the likes of Redick, Covington and Saric.

I didnt quite finish of that comment. Lakers obliviously have a VERY strong history. LeBrons career at the Lakers will never be comparable to Kareem, Magic and Kobe. While he could've been one of the most memorable Sixer despite company of Wilt, Dr J and Iverson.

I think Ingram's ceiling is very high, as high as anyone's on Philly's at least, yes..Embiid it's questionable as to whether he'll even be in the league in 5 years tbh, nothing to do with his game but injury concerns etc, and we've seen it before with big men.

Embiid would certainly make up for Bron's lack of defense, I agree but I dunno I mean partly like you said he hasn't played with a dominant center before so we don't know how that'd go..I mean he played with Shaq when Shaq was out of his prime, and that didn't go well...He can play with a big man like Bosh but that's mainly cuz Bosh can stretch the floor and is a good shooter. Honestly I badly wanted to see Randle+Bron on the same team and obviously it won't happen, I'm wondering if Randle's style of play not matching with Bron had anything to do with it..I thought they'd have been beasts in the paint, but maybe they didn't think it'd work or be the best piece to have around Bron.

Ball's ceiling is very high too although I'm a bit concerned about his toughness and injury issues. But he's already a very good defender, smart player and incredible passer..The Lakers offense also had much better numbers with him in as opposed to out last year, their 9 game losing streak was also without Ball..He makes a bigger difference than the stats may show, although the stats are impressive too(other than shooting %...)

Hart is already an elite defender, will probably be all NBA defense at some point and his scoring improved throughout the year including averaging 20+ points in 5 straight games to end the season..

I dunno man, I'm pretty high on the Lakers young core honestly..I think they have a great future especially now with Bron hopefully accelerating that pace.

If you replace Simmons with Bron he might be able to take 2 games from the Warriors in the Finals.

What do you guys think of LaVine? I've been hoping for days the Bulls don't match or offer some huge extension. He's a 6th man IMO and anything over than $10-12 per is an overpay. Talented but I think his basketball IQ is awful. Man thought Lake Michigan was an ocean :lmaooo:

But if you have Simmons and LeBron together they could pinch more :shaq:

Recovering from an ACL is pretty nasty, some athletes never come back the same. Lavine could still be a great role player off the bench or even be your 4th/5th best player as a starter imo.

It's the fit with Ben though. It's not just that he's not a good shooter, he refuses to even attempt them lol

And yeah I think 3rd best player on a playoff team is his ceiling. You get the bounce back after an ACL tear but you're at a greater risk for more knee injuries. The meniscus tears are what did Derrick in. Albeit he's had 3 to date, but those really hurt him. If you watch these 2013 highlights you'd never even know he tore his ACL in the 1st place.

My issue with Zach though is he's just not a smart player. Complete black hole and doesn't read the game well at all.

gonna be interesting to see how the raps do against a good opponent like the celtics, gonna confirm if we really chokers or just mentally incapable of playing well against lebron

i dont think anyone is worried about philly lol, wizards and pacers more of a threat

shoulda kept bellynelly and ersan, pretty much carried those fraudulent stars thru their whole playoff run

Probably a win for the Raps if they take 1 from a healthy Celtics team. Fully expect the C’s to go through the East in like 14 games. The Raptors are already chokers, but I don’t think anyone outside of Toronto would see that ending in any other way then a sweep/5 games max.

Apparently Celtics have not approached Marcus Smart for a new contract? Will be interesting to see who will pick him up. He's tough as nails but not particularly your ideal PG on offence, can see why Celtics will let him go if they do.
