Lol. Of course I’m gonna get pissed in the moment, but looking at it with a level head, the Sixers were too young to win anything this year and I bought into the hype. Winning the east is so irrelevant these days anyway. Like, congrats now it’s your turn to get spanked by GS. Nobody can say with 1 ounce of confidence that any team from the east can/will beat the warriors. It literally ruins the league. Of course, people are gonna say the cliche, “but anything can happen in sports!” Until we’re here this time next year, Warriors fresh off another finals sweep (5 games possibly) and Klay taking a hometown discount to stay in GS. Anyway, Celts are clearly the best team in the east and toronoto with a healthy, committed Kwahi is probably a tad above us.

    6 days until mini camp.

The media got way too hype on Philly in the playoffs. But just because they didnt make the Eastern Conference finals last season doesnt mean they will stopped growing lol. They are still very young. If people remembers or watched the Boston v Sixers series, it was a lot closer than what 4-1 suggests.

As for the Raps, I agree with a lot of fans that this is a good trade for them regardless if Kawhi re-signs with them or not. I cant imagine him sitting out this season but my only concern is the injury. No one knows how good he is right now, is he gonna fit right in straight away and start balling or will it take time?

Surprised no one mentioned that Kawhi uses the same doctor as the Sixers :whistling:

I don't really give a f--- about beating the Warriors tbh, not after Cousins went there (or really Durant). They're irrelevant to me, get them out of the league. As someone who's seen their teams win a zillion championships, i can still take the Celtics going to the finals and giving the Warriors a series as a win. Not a championship, but feel like they accomplished something. 2-3 years down the line, well nah they have to win. Hopefully Durant shreds his ACL by then.

But no what i'm talking about is you in the lead up basically guaranteeing you'd run over the Celtics. The we were too young s--- doesn't really work when the Celtics almost went to the finals on the backs of their young guys.

My problem with you Philly guys is you act like your teams have been winning championships consistently for years, when the truth of the matter is your teams haven't even made the playoffs consistently. I know beating the Pats in the Superbowl can change your bum life, but still. Just chill out.

So Kyrie injury prone, Embiid not.

And again this Tatum, Isaiah Thomas comparison is trash. Tatum was essentially the #1 pick in the draft, while IT was the last pick in his draft. Very little substance to anything you have to say in the NBA thread, but thats what happens when the only info you get is from Skip and Shannon.

Nobody said they were gonna stop growing, but the Celtics young core is honestly better or at the very worst right there with them. And who cares how close the series was, the Celtics basically add a top 10 player and a top 25-30 player to the team that won that series 4-1. I get that ppl want to just assume Kyrie is gonna be hurt and that Hayward actually was never good or that he won't recover from that injury. But really we don't even need one of them to beat Philly again. Tatum is gonna be a star as soon as this upcoming season.

    f--- KD for real.

Two championships this year, the eagles are the NFL’s new potential dynasty, the Phillies are finally competing again, Nova is a blue blood, and the Sixers/Flyers are stocked with young talent. My life’s pretty great as a sports fan.

It's debatable, but far from certain. I dont think anyone of the Celtics young core will be better than Embiid. Well on track to be the best defensive player in the league and can make quite a statement on offence. And if we are projecting talent, lets say Simmons can form some sort of consistent mid range shot and Fultz gets his jumpshot back, the Sixers are not out of contention.

As for Irving and Hayward both excellent players, would you say the Celtics were significantly better in the regular season with Irving than Terry's run in the playoffs? And Hayward will be taking minutes off your wings.

Kyrie is built for the playoffs though, who cares what a team looks like in the regular season. Ask Raptors fans. And I'm not worried about Hayward taking minutes from anyone. All 3 will play together consistently, one checks out early and then comes back in when the last guy comes out.

Brown can defend 4's if there is a guy that gives Tatum trouble in the low post. Really not something I'm worried about, gonna be exciting to see what Stevens does.

Embiid is 4 years older then Tatum and their is no reason to be optimistic that he stays healthy. If 29 teams in the league had Tatum on their team, you'd be hard pressed to find a single one of them that would make a Tatum for Embiid straight up trade.

Actually starting to think Brown is getting glanced over a little with the Tatum hype. Hes still a guy who can get to the rim legit whenever he wants, took a huge step with his shooting (especially from 3) and has all NBA Defense written all over him.

Also I dunno why @dna hits didnt go for a deal where it’s him picking any team in the east over Boston.

Why just Philly? You could’ve probably got redsoxx to take a deal with you picking the field, may as well include Toronto etc too.

I may still do the deal. Just let me gather my
thoughts and watch my trusted sources the next week first. Kyrie also had LeBron to lean on during the playoffs on the cavs. If he does stay healthy, he’s going to have no one on that level to depend on. Still think Boston fans are overrating Tatum based off of one year when there were some Boston fans changing IT for mvp over a year go. Just saying....

the more i look at this raptors line up, the more i like it. they're elite in their own way, which is defence. and then they're either competent, or more than competent in pretty much every other department. #6 last year in assists per game, still got a top 3 bench in the NBA, and they got shooters too.

kawhi forcing the doubles and kicking like bron, people gonna have all day to s---t. demar's game was a little more predictable than kawhi.

    - KD gonna get bullied by kawhi
    - steph gonna get bullied by lowry and FVV (play him physical like delly did in 2015)
    - ibaka gonna earn all 3 years of his contract helping JV with a boogie cousins who is coming off injury, playing 15-17 minutes a night, and is still trying to figure out how to be effective as a 4th scoring option.
    - OG takes klay
    - leave draymond wide open for 48 minutes, just protect the paint

idk brah, i think they got the ingredients to do something this year. i'm thinking back to kawhi having the warriors on the ropes last year until zaza did his thing.
