    lol f--- them. if it's a temp job, don't sweat it. let them struggle for a replacement while you go enjoy time with your family. your family is important. hate to say it but your grandma won't be around forever. you could always find a new job. family can't be replaced.

    in august i requested a week off and it just so happened to fall on the busiest week of the year. We had some special sale going and they denied me the vacation. So the rational person i was, I told them im going to quit because I wanna go on vacation with my family and im not going to care about my worthless job over spending time with them. When i told them that, i guess that got nervous or what ever and didn't want to replace me Etc... they eventually gave me my vacation time.

    my suggestion, Call their bluff if you really dont NEED this job and could find another.

    people can get sick on christmas:manny:
    if you call in sick they can't prove you weren't sick, f--- 'em. if they dont feel bad about obligating you to work when you told them well in advance that you can't, you shouldn't feel bad about lying to them. they might know in their head that you're lying but they can't really say s--- about it.

    They hired around 20 of us recently and they are hired waaaay to many now they cant keep any of us on so we are on temp contracts and apparently we're done after this weekend anyway so i dont see the point. I just dont want them f---ing around with my pay

    you're entitled to what you've worked for and earned thusfar, they can't withold that because you called in sick.

    at least they can't here, you're entitled to your last paycheque and any vacation money you've earned but haven't used yet, idk about laws there but i can't imagine you wouldnt be able to get it.

    update:

    Missed boxing day and said I couldn't come in cos trains don't run. Manager moaned at me on the phone and said it was a "piss-poor excuse" I went in Yday and they all moaned at me and said I should apologies and change my ways and that I'm disrespectful and unprofessional lol. They then changed my shift so I gotta go into work tonight(i told them i cant work on mondays anyway)
