Apr 18, 2017 I like how people are still saying everyone is buying into d---'s hype like half of us didn't s--- on TPAB while music writers deepthroated it.
Apr 18, 2017 Not really. He says it himself in the review. He doesn't like how Kendrick shot for a more "contemporary sound." He rather Kendrick rap sonnets behind George Clinton production. Also, the fact that he gave rodeo an 8 but continuously trashes music from artists that Travis Scott clearly bites, is embarrassing.
Apr 18, 2017 Shows that he needs something neatly packaged conceptually and rejects anything that has any sort of ambition in its structure and concept. Him giving the Joey Badass album a 9/10 which is just TPAB fan fiction solidifies that.
Apr 18, 2017 "AABA" got a 9, but this got a 7? Meh who cares about this dudes opinion. 99/100 on Metacritic.
Apr 18, 2017 Well considering he didn't give it a 9 lol It's almost like most of ya'll care about numbers instead of actual reviews
Apr 18, 2017 He had good points about the songs: loyalty, love and god. Its true that there arent as good as the rest. They seem to be rushed like Kendrick didnt really know how to properly fevelop the concept of these songs.
Apr 18, 2017 actually i agree with him i knew he would bash god, love and loyalty and the 7 i expected since its not really Kendricks best work and he didnt enjoyed it so much (reminder: the score tells you how much he enjoyed the album not how actually good it is) that being said i think most publication are not bold enought to critique the album like fantano did. I think this album is not even near as a great as TPAB and i think even Pusha t could out do Kendrick atm. It bumps in the whip and i will bump it more than TPAB but it doesnt mean its a classic album just a good to great album thats it.
Apr 18, 2017 Yeah i completely disagree with this one. Sounds like dude hyped himself up too impossible expectations before the album dropped
