Pete Carroll said they wanted to give Russell a shot at throwing cuz the Pats were in a goaline defense, then run it on the next play if the didn't get it. I still don't get it.

I feel the Seahawks pain. Whenever I play Madden franchise I try to make my QB win MVP (never happens) so I throw it on the one yard line with similar out comes lol

Perfect pass? Nah. On a slant that close to the goal line you can't lead the reciever like that. You have to deliver the ball right to the chest of your reciever but it wasn't a bad pass by any means. It's just one of those plays where a defender just made a great play and took advantage of a minor error on Wilson's part.

yooooo. the seahawks hand-wrapped the superbowl for the patriots. when russell wilson got the call to run the pass play, he shoulda said f--- you coach and ran that s--- with marshawn. not a fan of either team, but that was the worst playcall possible. EVERY SINGLE COACH would have ran in that situation. smh carroll. i respected the s--- outta him for going for the TD at the end of the first half, but s---, with the ball at the one yard line, f--- risk. play it safe and run that s--- in.

Pete Carol's reasoning actually made sense though. Pats had their goal line defense out on the field so they decided we'll pass it. Wilson has protected the football well his entire career so you pass it, you get the TD, you win, if not you run it on 3rd and if you don't get in there you have the time out and see what you do on 4th.

It was ONE yard tho. Marshawn would have EASILY got that yard. i don't think the patriots tackled lynch for a loss all game.

I realize that but people need to understand that Butler made a tremendous play on the football. If Wilson throws that football two inches to the left, that's a TD and no one is even questioning that play call.

classic case of just over thinking and out smarting yourself. just give it to the RB and if he can't get a yard in three plays then at least you can live with that. as an eagles fan nothing sucks worse than passing on the 1 yard line and failing miserably, and just wishing you ran it

It's 2nd and goal from the 1, of course they're in the goal line. The situation should have been "You're going to use your best chance at scoring (Lynch), and we're going to use our best chance at stopping you (Goal line)...Best team wins.
