Everyone including the Pats thought Lynch was getting the ball. If you want Wilson to make the play call PA bootleg and let him walk it in. Great read and reaction by Butler.

Honestly, there is not enough credit being given to Butler.

I know it was a bad play call, but Butler jumping the route was an AMAZING play. Such a HUGE risk to take... I thought it was an incomplete pass at first, thought he knocked it down...

That was such a clutch play.

Also, I keep seeing people saying Pats got lucky, or Seattle gave them the game... That's cool and all, but people seem to forget that Kearse had the luckiest catch I have ever seen in a Super Bowl, or possibly a game.... WAY flukier than the David Tyree catch...

Brady is GOAT though. The argument is over. 3 game winning Super Bowl drives, 9 post season. Most completions ever in a Super Bowl... 4 touchdowns to 4 different receivers against one of, if not, the greatest secondary ever?

Also, I see people saying Malcolm Butler should be MVP. No...

He had the play of the game, definitely.... but, the only MVP candidates of this game were Brady, Edelman and Jamie Collins. Maybe even Chandler Jones...

They wanted to get all 3 plays off though. Had they ran on 2nd and not gotten in, they would of had to use their last time out on 3rd. Then it's hard to run on 3rd again because if you don't get it again on 3rd you have to hurry up on 4th down and you might or might not get the play off plus you don't have time to discuss what you want to run.

Like I said, Wilson throws that ball two inches to the left it's a TD, Seahawks win the Super Bowl and no ones questioning that play call.

I don't think it was THAT bad of a play call...

Honestly, I don't think you expect a rookie corner back to jump a route like that. It was a perfect play call, because Pats were expecting option (look at everyone crowding the line)

Butler just made an epic play on the ball. Look at how far off he is pre-snap...

Wilson must've felt it was an EASY touch down, or Butler would've SWIPED at the ball... I'm SHOCKED he went full force for an interception...

I understand why people think it's a bad play call, and personally, I would've run it on 2nd down, then called time out, then thrown it on 3rd down, then ran it again on 4th down...

But I also think they're trying to wind the clock down, and figure, AT WORST, it goes for an incomplete pass, and they have two plays left, with two timeouts. Malcolm Butler made a play similar to ELITE cornerbacks... Not many corners would take that risk... People aren't really understanding that lol.

That's a play Revis or Sherman make, not Malcolm Butler...

I read like 2 sentences of this post. No diss but Butler didn't really do s--- the ball went straight to him. Kearse was like jogging on the route he wasn't trying to go for the ball. Ball went into Butler hands. Love an underdog story but foh could been anyone. Butler was in the right spot right time

Butler is roughly 4-5 yards off the ball, BEHIND Brandon Browner... He runs FULL SPRINT to the spot and knocks into the receiver... He MADE THE PLAY...

Here, rewatch it... The ball didn't come right to him, he jumped the route...

Lmao Kearse fell all stupid smh. I give you some credit on what you said now. He did run to the spot and hit him, ball went straight to him for going to the right spot :manny: . I still blame Kearse more than give Butler credit

I mean, I was kind of shocked Kearse didn't fight more for the ball... But, that's kind of my point, Butler made a h--- of a play, he was hungrier for that interception. The ball was a LITTLE bit in front of Kearse, but if Butler doesn't jump the route, it's an incomplete pass or probably a touchdown.

He made a play that I expect Revis or Sherman to make, not an undrafted rookie lol.

I genuinely don't think Wilson or Kearse expected him to jump the route. Those type of pick plays? No way.

Lastnight's game was totally different from this though. Tennessee was around the ten yard line and down by seven. A TD would've only tied it. Seattle was inside the 1 yard line, down by four, with the best running back and hardest player to tackle in the league backfield. Lynch could've literally just fallen forward for a world championship. h--- if they wanted Russell Wilson to win it for them they should've QB sneaked it from under center.

Brady marching down and scoring a TD on a defense that has been compared to some of the greatest ever was a thing of f---ing beauty. Legendary s--- right there.

I honestly think that Belichick not calling a TO and giving Seattle a chance to think is the biggest thing many people arent talking about. In my opinion Seattle didn't have time to call the smart play trying to preserve their time out and called a slant route on the fly instead. Just random s--- to think about Monday morning.

All 4 'experts' gave Seattle the advantage at QB? Lol, I know Wilson's pretty d--- great but Brady's probably the best ever. Also no idea how 3 of 4 gave Seattle the better coaching, people were overrating the Hawks just based off recent history and underrating NE for whatever reason, I figured they were the favorites looking at this match up.

Everyone on this page saying the ball was targeted at Kearse, it was Lockette.

Kearse was the pick man, and he did a horrible job at it.

Feel like Lockette thought he was wide open, thats why he didnt go all out for the ball. Wilson threw it fine, Butler just made a great play.

Hand the f---ing ball off the Young 'Shawn jesus christ. He averaged like 4 yards a carry.

great game, I had $ on Patriots...hindsight is 20-20 if Seahawks score then no1 questions the play-call if they don't then everyone says they should have run the ball.

I found it weird how patriots didn't call timeout after that AMAZING CATCH from seattle wideout....NFL Conspiracy??? lol if they scored...ne had basically no chance of making any comeback
