I hate Seattle but to call that catch lucky doesn't sit right. He was lucky it bounced off his legs sure, but bobbing and maintaining possession while basically break dancing on his back takes incredible awareness and catch ability. Lucky is a little harsh. That may be the best, not luckiest, reception of all time. Regardless of the outcome of the game. JMO.

Did it require skill to handle it when it was bounced up into hands? For sure.

But, when a defender knocks the ball out of your hands, you NEVER expect it to hit your legs, as you lay on your back, and travel up to your hands...

I mean, try to find me a catch like it... I think I can think of ONE (the Green Bay one from YEARS ago...)

I mean, call it a lucky bounce, or lucky catch, fact is, the RECEPTION was lucky. It was a knocked down ball that FORTUNATELY hit his legs, and he had the opportunity to imply his skills to catch it.

David Tyree's catch was more skillful than Kearse's.

Tyree actually had possession off of a direct throw. It was just crazy because of the entire play's sequence. Eli escaping a sack, running back 5 yards, just chucking it up to a no name receiver who caught the ball against one of the best safeties in the NFL, and holding the ball against his head. THAT was improbable, but not lucky...

Joe Jurevicis made a career out of 'flukey' catches.

Wow, I didn't notice it was Lockette, good look.

Yeah, like I said, I don't think the receiver expected Butler to jump the route... The way he ran the route, it looked like he thought he was wide open and about to walk into the end zone with ease.

Butler made a play that ELITE cornerbacks make... The pass was actually a GREAT design for Seattle. They were picking Browner, and testing a rookie cornerback... I guarantee they thought the play call was going to work, and didn't think Butler would jump it. Wilson looks like he's reading Ninkovich blitzing more than Butler.

Brady's 4th quarter stats were ridiculous.

    13 of 15... 120+ yards... 2 TDs.

He made the LOB his b----.

    GOAT.

One of the best Superbowls in recent memory. So glad the Patriots won, even though I don't like them at all.

No, Carroll admitted it was him and Bevell (Bevell's call, Carroll signed off on it).

Pete Carroll's explanation was stupid as f---. When players on your team, and ex-coaches, ex-players etc. are basically all completely baffled by a play call, it was a bad call. SURE he was obviously "trying to win the game" but more-so it's just a straight up bad call by a coach who was trying to get cute.

"It's not the right matchup for us to run the football, so on second down we throw the ball really to kind of waste that play," Carroll said. "If we score we do, if we don't, then we'll run it on third and fourth down, with really no second thoughts or hesitation in that at all."

Bevell is probably gonna get fired over this, as he should. He said Lockette should have "fought for the ball better" lol are u serious bruh

I have the same feeling, it was a bitter sweet moment. Bitter because i'm a Manning guy but now there's no way you can say Manning is better than Brady, sweet because I f---ing hate Seattle and it was fun to see the legion of poop get humbled.

Wilson could have either changed the play or threw it lower like the article says. Still a bad play call, but still...

Pete Carroll's coaching rating in Madden better take a drastic hit this week. I hate how his explanation is "we threw because they were in a goaline defense so it was a bad matchup" Like really? What defense did you expect them to be in in that situation?! The call was so horrible that it pisses me off and I don't even like Seattle. I couldn't even imagine how their fans feel. Worst play call in the history of sports. Bevell should definitely be fired over this and Carroll's job should at the very least be questioned by ownership.
