This is what I hope for Pats:

Re-Sign:

Revis, McCourtey, Vollmer, Vereen, Ayers.... These players are a MUST.

Hopefully they pick up Revis' option, then restructure with him for a 4 year contract at like 14-15 million a year.

Restructure:

Wilfork, Mayo, Arrington, Amendola, Riddley

If they don't restructure, I'd cut them. I love Wilfork and Mayo, but I think they're expendable. They add depth, but they're not as important as they once were to this defense. They're just bonuses.

Arrington and Amendola are OK with me as long as their cap hit is only a million.

Riddley is probably the odd man out, I see him leaving.

Revis and McCourtey are a MUST though. You cannot let those two go....

^I dont think Solder is a FA until next year. I think Ridley will be gone though, but i agree with everything else you said.

Only way i see Revis leaving is if the Pats get cheap.

Although, Robert and Jon Kraft have continuously said their first goal is re-signing him...

I can see them low-balling him, or trying to be too cute with the contract.

My hope is they go to him and say "We'll pick up the 20 million option, but let's restructure, and sign a long term deal for like 15-16 mill a year.

I think Revis would be OK with that. He sounds like he really wants to stay.

Problem is, Patriots always seem to do this. They only over-pay lineman on offense and defense.

They need to break bank for Revis.

Yes.

For 3-4 years? Absolutely.

Corner backs and receivers don't really hit the "wall" like running backs do.

They usually start falling off at around 34.

Ty Law was still really good until he was 35 (playing with Kansas City)

I mean I don't think Tannehill is a bad QB, he's progressed well and turned a lot of heads this past season. Still, you don't hand out a 100 million dollar contract after one solid season, you hand 100 million dollar contracts QB's who have proven to be consistent like a Matt Ryan.

Tannehill could turn out great and the Dolphins look like geniuses but what if he struggles? What if he begins to fall off? Then you're stuck paying all this money to a QB you thought would be able to play at a high level.

107 million dollars for a few more 8-8/9-7 seasons, sounds about right with inflation. If he's not leading them to the playoffs within the next 2 seasons, someone else will come along during the 3rd, or they'll give up and draft one after. Either way they can get out of this in a few years anyway once he inevitably doesn't live up to the expectations.

It's the Kaep/Dalton fake deal... 15 mil a year, only the first 2 are guaranteed... it's a team option in the 3rd year so actually they can just get out of it if he doesn't improve the first 2 years.
