I hope so. Would hate to see him go. If money is all he's after, then the Lions can't compete with someone like the Browns (Or a lot of teams for that matter). He said a while back that he was leaving his negotiations in the hands of his agent, so if that's the case it won't be in our favor, unless they already have a plan in place.

Lions will probably try to resign Suh, using the tag would've cost them $26.9 million in 2015 so it didn't make sense.

They need him badly, he's the heart of that defense.

Jarryd Hayne (Ex Rugby player, who was expected to sign with Detroit as a RB ) signed with the 49ers.

My buddy, who is a huge Lions fan, doesn't agree with me. He strongly believes you guys will let him walk. He said there's no way the Lions will pay Suh what he's asking for. He said one of those teams that typically overpay for a player, like the Redskins or Raiders, will sign him.

I don't agree with some of the dirty plays, but what I love about Suh is that he plays like an old-school football player.

I stand by what I said, I think he'll remain in Detroit, but I hope I'm wrong, because if I am, then that means he'll (probably) exit the division. :)

I hope they figure something out, but I can't help but to question at what cost. Long term signing Suh I think puts the Lions in position where there is no building, there is no looking to the future, it's going to become do or die, right now. It's not like we have a history filled with NFC Championships, Super Bowl appearances, and SB wins though, so I say if having Suh is going to be our best chance, then that's the chance we take. Everything to gain, and nothing to lose. If they don't have a successful season, then they are right where they've been for the last 25 years.

If they want him though they better sign him before the 10th. If he's not signed by then, no way Detroit can compete with the money some of those teams have available. Everyday I hear about more teams expressing interest. Chicago, Dallas, Jets, Giants, Raiders, Browns, Redskins, Dolphins, Tampa, Jacksonville, Indy, Buffalo. Those are the teams I've heard so far (Though not all of them have a realistic shot, but most do).

    My Eagles wish list:
    McCourtey
    Maxwell
    Resign Maclin
If not then sign Randall Cobb or Torrey Smith

It's a VERY tough decision for the Lions.

It's like you said, signing him to an extension will hurt the Lions long term when you look at the salary cap. It will make it harder to do things later down the road because you guys will have so much money tied up into Suh, Stafford and Megatron.

On the other hand, letting him go will make your defense significantly weaker. Suh is one of the very few defensive players in the league that commands double teams (sometimes triple) and he makes everyone around him soooooo much better. Plus, the Lions have obviously focused building their defense around the line and Suh is the main cog.

You guys will probably lose Bradley Fletcher too. If they cut Williams, I can't picture them resigning Fletcher

By losing Fletcher, we are better. You could play with only 1 corner and it'd be the same outcome as having Fletcher out there. I'm expecting a strong run at Byron Maxwell

As a Bills fan I'm saying why would you trade Kiko Alonso. Really don't know what to think of this deal right now. SO random and out of nowhere,
