For sure. Defense is putting the team on their shoulders. They have big time talent at every position.

Wow what a crazy ending, I think the Chiefs gave it away more than the Broncos won it but still Denver's getting the W's which is all that matters for now. I think their offense will improve later in the season.

Belichick would put a RB in the dog house for the season if they did what Charles just did lol, I've seen him do it for far less(Jonas Gray).

Seemed like on the last drive they abandoned the system a bit and just let Peyton do his thing out of shotgun. He had s-----y protection all night, part of it was KC but most of it has to be on his line.

Great game as far as defense goes, both teams were aggressive and on point. I think you're right about the Broncos O-Line, this is probably their worst group of linemen since Manning has been here, which is not good since he's declined a bit. Clady went through his annual season ending injury and one or two left via free agency so it'll take some time, but they held up at the end. I think overall it was pretty 50-50. The Chiefs made mistakes of course, but the strips and fumbles were forced, and the interceptions were also great plays. Defense saved the day and as long as they can stay healthy, they're easily top 3 in the NFL. Hopefully the offense can keep working and change the playbook (seems like everybody knows what they're going to do unless Manning goes shotgun)

Also, Chiefs need to start spending on some receivers. Another game without a touchdown for a receiver and while Smith isn't elite, he has the arm strength to get it to receivers if they can create separation. It's mind boggling how long it's been since one of them scored.

lol Charles would've been cut the next day, signed to a different team, and then somehow made it back to Belichick just in time to run 200 yards in the playoffs. Then he'll get cut again

Alex is a very smart and mobile QB, but he's shown in his career he's not capable of consistently putting the ball down the field. As long as he's in KC, it would probably be best for them to invest most of their money on defense, o-line, and the running game. They had this game and gave it away with red zone turnovers and obviously that Charles fumble at the end was the nail in the coffin. I still like their chances this year, I fully expect them to be in the playoff picture by the end of the season. That defense is legit.

I agree but at the same time it just feels so wrong. Not a single receiving touchdown in a year? They struggled mightily to score when they were in the 20 and besides Charles breaking a long run and the pick six, they had 10 points. Kansas City has worked up a great defense and guys like Houston are scary to face, but they just won't make it past the first or second round like this. They're almost like a poor man's Seahawks except obviously Smith is a few pegs down below Wilson but the style I mean.

Chargers vs Chiefs vs Broncos will keep it very interesting all season long.

They do have Maclin, and Kelce looked great in the opener. Besides Jimmy Graham I'd give KC receiving corps the edge, especially since Charles is a threat to catch a few out of the backfield. I agree though, over a year without a receiving touchdown to a WR is crazy. They showed a stat last night, I think in that time span the rest of the NFL has 300-500+ such TDs.

Yea I saw that, over 500+ TD's by the rest of the league since their last receiving touchdown. They're still a good team. The NFL seems a bit more varied this year than last. The Bills look promising, the Colts will need some time to gel unless they end up flopping, who knows about the Titans, and hopefully JJ Watt can get another touchdown or two on offense (because poor Texans). NFC seems a bit more shut with Packers/Seahawks/Cowboys barring injury.

yeah, his hand looks awful. saw that on NFL live yesterday.

hopefully he'll eventually be able to return to playing at a high level, but who knows

something tells me the giants won't want to keep him any longer...

Chiefs have been throwing recievers under the bus for years. Smith simply doesn't look for them. He doesn't have the arm/accuracy to consistently throw the deep ball & when their in the Redzone it's either going to Charles or a TE

I can't really argue against that. Smith has enough arm strength to get it to them I think, he's at least average, but his decision making isn't up to par, which is what hurts most. The scheme is definitely to run first, pass to backs or TE second, and then maybe the receiver gets a look. They missed a couple open receivers because of that. But I guess that's just how that team will be until there's a QB & coaching change.

So upset I gotta miss it, other than the Vikings game it's the one I'd most want to watch this weekend, seahawks/packers included.

What's your prediction Fitz? Gonna assume you have the Pats winning by 10+ or something?

I think Pats win in a very close game.

Gonna be a great game m8. Last week, during the 4th quarter of the Bills/Colts game, the entire stadium was chanting "we want Brady!" Lol. Gotta love rivalries.
