And SF too. I can see Jed York trying to make it up to the fans by bringing Shanahan or Holmgren. Too bad it's 2016 and not 2011.

Really bummed how bad of all around game from coaching to defense to offense etc yesterday was for the Jets but I can't be too mad cus I'd be lying if I said I realistically had them 10-6 and playing for a playoff spot last week of the season going in. Very happy with the turn around on penalization & just all around season long we've been much better than we ever really seemed under Rex. Stings Rex gets to say he swept us his first year as Bills HC, and I never really care to get much into s--- talk, but... the league don't sweat Rex, even when he wins people are just like 'You enjoy that, we know you don't get many that actually matter' and this is coming from someone who loved the guy when he got us to back to back AFC Championships.

Chip Kelly reached out to the Niners? :lmaooo:
I'd imagine the Niners have had enough of shooting themselves in the d-ck.

how do you feel about them firing tomsula after only one season--- especially with all the bad things that happened to the 9ers in the off-season before this current season started?

You didn't ask me, but wasn't Tomsula once an interim Niners head coach and basically went back down the ladder when they hired someone else after the season (of which he was interim in)? When the hired him to be HC that's the first thing I thought of: "If he wasn't good enough then, why is he good enough now?"

@Batman Coughlin resigned as head coach of Giants :emoji_slight_frown:

    .

maybe, i'm not sure man. i can't remember.

i'm just curious what ppl think because normally coaches don't get released after only ONE season. its happened before, but in most cases they get longer than one season to prove themselves.

Just saw Coughlin resign. Can't wait for Chip to become their HC and watch him cut OBJ and Cruz

I feel like a kid on christmas morning that he got canned after one season. Look I'm sure Tomsula is a great person, and I know for a fact he's a h--- of DL coach. But the bottom line is he was not HC material and he doesn't have the NFL connections to put together a respectable coaching staff. Before the season started I said there was enough talent left on the roster to alone win 4-6 games but Tomsula was the big question mark. If he and his staff could put together NFL level gameplans and get the players ready they could win a few more games and possibly sneak out some wins. Tomsula and his staff weren't able to do that. They were consistently out coached, out schemed week in and week out. He had to go, no doubt about it. I'm all for giving coaches more than one year, but not if your team looks worse and less competitive in December than in September. He clearly was in over his head. Last year I wanted Gase but that fell apart with the final offer on the table.

Yes Tomsula was an interim HC for one game in 2010 after Singletary was fired.

It's going to be an exciting offseason, SF is going to get a big time name for HC, they're going to get some nice FA, and they will be agressive in the draft and not take red shirt players. Jed pretty much said during his presser earlier that Baalke is on the hot seat this year.

    My top choices personally are
    1A Hue Jackson,
    1B Sean Payton
    3.Adam Gase

Adam probably tell them to go f themselves after last year. Sean may not be able to work with Baalke. So I hope the Steelers beat cincy so Jackson can start interviewing next week. Jackson got a raw deal his one year in Oakland but that job he did going 8-8 with that roster under Al Davis should of been Coach of the Year.

Tomsula was set up to fail when he took the job. Niners are just hoping they don't s---t themselves in the d-ck this year next year.

I really think Eagles are going to get Gase.

Had a feeling this was coming after he invited his entire family to yesterday's game, Coughlin is a class act and will certainly be missed around the league. He was a great coach but I feel like it was his time, he's not getting any younger. I'd be happy if the Giants sign someone like Sean Peyton going forward.

Tomsula lobbied for the HC job last year and went behind Harbaughs back to the GM (Trent) and Jed York to get it. Maiocco and Murphy have both reported that Tomsula was Jeds rat inside the locker room. So imo the fatman signed himself up. The Yorks loved Tomsula and I'm sure Jed was torn having to fire him. He was their hand picked successor to Harbaugh and that choice was made from their personal connection to him, not his resume or credidtials.

why only give him one year though.. and not a chance to bring in his own qb ect? jay gruden had a worse record last year and now you could make a case he is coach of the year.

I like Hue as well, hope Philly is able to bring him or Gase in. Those would be my top 2, idk about Payton though.

Because Tomsulas team showed zero improvement on a weekly basis, they were soft and unprepared. It took until week 16 for them to finally score points in the 1st quarter. Team was man handled and showed zero toughness. It was a mistake to hire him and they corrected that last night. I mean this guy gave players breaks during team meetings every 30 mintues so they could check their phones. That showed up on gameday when they weren't prepared. Sometimes one season is all you need to learn a guy isn't your future coach. SF fans only needed a few games with Tomsula.

I'm gonna miss seeing Coughlin's rosey cheeks and puzzled look on the sidelines twice a year. His post game rants were always good too. He was a staple of the NFC East.

I didnt think Tomsula was gunna work from the jump, especially after I heard all behind the scenes drama behind it. I remember my Grandpa telling me something about women if she cheats with you she'll cheat on you, never wife one like that. Sorta how I felt about Tomsula being the rat and going behind Harbaugh's back. Wasn't why he failed but can't say I don't believe all this as karma.

I'll miss Coughlin as well, I think he still has some coaching in him left, if the Giants were in a better spot with better talent I could've seen them keeping him, but he's not getting any younger and it takes time for a team to mold. Might as well get a new younger guy to lead that charge.

I think we're fine at the tackle and center spots. But both of our guards are basically practice squad players that need to be replaced.
