Ok @TimmyT I win you lost this one. Everyone saying they agree Odell is overrated.

@Changeling Aj Green might actually be the best WR in the nfl. I would love to see what he'd do with a good qb throwing to him. He's a talented freak.i hope bengals get a good qb while Aj is in his prime.

I would rather have Julio and Brown over him, but imo Odell isn't overrated. Breaking record after record and he's still only 24.

The only relevant record Ik he broke was most receiving yards within 2 seasons surpassing randy moss. I don't think he really broke any other big record and we've seen plenty of 1-2 year wonders who never live up to their first season hype. Rg3 broke some record I even think. "Breaking record after record" is over exaggerating. A top 3 WR doesn't drop touchdown passes in the end zone during playoffs.

Maybe Odell will prove me wrong but I would bet money he will never have another season with numbers as good as the past. He'll get lost in his own media hype and when the media decides to push another WR as the best he won't be able to handle it.

That's the problem. He had that great catch and the media freaked out and marketed him and that catch hard. He's in an offense that completely relies on him and is always trying to catch up...he's a great YAC reciever and reciever in general but he's overrated. Julio and AJ have better hands and ability to make plays on the ball. Antonio fulfills the same role as OBJ but is more reliable and less of a douchebag.

He is a great player though.

Right after his support of Kaep at the Meadows Festival the other day. Good for him.

you do realize that when you're talking about who the best WR is.....you might as well flip a coin between guys like julio, odell, brown, green, etc

in other words, they're pretty much neck and neck. so its ok if you think one is better than the other, but its by a very, very small margin

you saying " a top 3 WR doesn't drop touch passes in the end zone during the playoffs".....is pretty silly. these guys are humans, not robots. ALL WR's drop passes. playoffs or not.

and in what world.....does a player who has had 3 great seasons in a row just suddenly drop off the face of the earth? especially when he's only 24 years old?

man, you've GOT to be trolling. you're telling me a guy who's clearly been one of the best players at his position.......is just gonna suddenly stop playing well at TWENTY 24 YEARS OLD?

    WOW

I agree he's still a great football player. I would rank him 5-10 somewhere in between.
julio, green, brown are in a higher league than Odell. Odell is up there, but just below those 3. Every professional sport analyst agrees with that.
    2 great seasons
Where did I say he will stop playing well? I think he'll still be good but not elite (top 3.)
you're right, all receivers drop passes. However, the best WR in the league wouldn't drop an easy td in the playoffs that would put their team in the lead potentially winning the game. The best WR would actually, you know, catch the f---ing football.
You're one of those fans that watches Odell catch 5 yard passes on the sideline before a game thinking d--- is that amazing and takes so much talent! He's the best in the nfl because media hypes him up the most!

you said "Maybe Odell will prove me wrong but I would bet money he will never have another season with numbers as good as the past."

what i put in quotes above indicates that you think he's not going to continue on the great pace that he's been on for the last 3 seasons.

honestly, i still feel like you're trolling. what you're saying makes NO sense to me. this guy has over 1300 yards as a rookie and he only played 12 games that year. more importantly, why would you draft him in fantasy if he's so overrated?

Timmy brings up a good point here @dna hits, I assume you probably had to take Beckham in the 1st round to get him right? Did you not think he was overrated before this season?

If Jay turned down the super bowl gig in defense of Kaep, I think it would have been better for him to make a statement in his defense during the most watched event of the year rather than staying away.

First off, remember one thing arguing with me. I live for this s---. I'll argue all day and night.

Anyways, just because I said Odell won't have seasons as good as his first couple doesn't mean I think he's going to be awful. I think he'll just be another above average WR before too long. Still great but not top 5. Quit twisting my words around Timmy.

An yes, Odell had a great rookie season. So did Rg 3. And I drafted him like 2 years ago and the only reason he's still on my team is because its a keeper fantasy league and didn't have other players worth keeping over his potential. Trust me, if I could go back I never would have drafted him.

Maybe it's just me being too involved in fantasy football but my rankings for top WRs would probably go the same way it usually does in fantasy.

    1. Brown
    2. Beckham
    3. Julio
