Great man. Good coach. Bad game manager.

It was time for him to go. I’m glad they let him beat up the Packers before firing him.

This is basically how I feel about Del Rio

@Big Mitch i think the Raiders made a knee jerk reaction firing del rio. i don't think they should have gotten rid of him after one disappointing season---especially in a league like the NFL that has parity--as evidenced by the fact that pretty much every year you have a bunch of NEW playoff teams (teams that didn't make it the year before)

plus, the raiders seem to be extremely confident in Gruden to the extent that they're willing to give him part ownership stake as well. i mean like john gruden (he's very entertaining IMO) and i hope he comes back, but i don't see him as some god coach who all of a sudden will make everything peaches and cream

for the most part, i think coaching is difficult to judge. i believe there are some coaches who are obviously good ones, but the majority of them...its difficult to say whether they're good or not. is mike mcarthy that good....or is it because they have aaron rodgers? is hue jackson really that bad ( 1 win in two whole seasons) or is it just because he's coaching the browns? how good is marvin lewis? i mean, yeah, they haven't done anything with him as their head coach in the post season.....but when he first arrived.......he turned that team around.

Definitely think we prematurely fired Del Rio, but Gruden is a much better fit imo. Like I said, if we aren’t basically 100% sure we’re getting Gruden, I think the firing is bull s---. He just led us to 12-4, got a big extension, and had 2 of the worst coordinators in all of football, but a lot of that’s on him too. They were his guys. Carr also had a horrible year which didn’t help, but that might be the back still bothering him. He was a huge reason we were 12-4.... 8 4th quarter comebacks??? That’s insane. Doesn’t translate well year to year.

Another thing I hate about Del Rio is that he never held anyone accountable... Carr would have a terrible game, the defense would give up 30 plus, and we’d have 10 penalties for 100 yards and he’d be in the press conference after the game like “yea we just need to do better preparing ourselves, executing, and then we will be alright.” He had that attitude all year. That’s where I think Gruden will do a much better job. He’s not gonna settle for bs like Del Rio did. If he brings Gannon in, hopefully he’ll help Carr improve in that aspect too. He’s never tearing players a new a------ for drops and stuff. At least not like he was last season.

Gruden getting ownership doesn’t really bother me as much as the personnel decisions would. That’s something that will probably happen and I hope it doesn’t.

This makes me nervous. If the reports are true and O’Brien is going to give McMair an ultimatum, then i sadly see McNair choosing Smith over O’Brien. Smith should have been fired a long time ago. The entire city hates this Smith, while the majority likes O’Brien. I hope it doesn’t come to an ultimatum, but if it does......

No he is awful. Not only has he underachieved with teams loaded with talent w/ out a playoff win for 15 years (!), but in every single game this year the team completely shut down in the second half due to Marvin being outcoached by the other HC so bad it's embarrassing.

It's time for him to move on, he's an old conversative passive coach with no fire to be seen in any way shape or form

^ @Big Dangerous I respect that. Obviously, you would know better than I about Marvin Lewis and his coaching style, time management, etc.

I wonder why they’ve kept him around so long. Hmmmm

I think the wild card games are good ones--especially the NFC games....but even the AFC matchups are intriguing.

panthers at saints : its tough to beat a team 3 teams in a row. these two teams are familiar with each other being in the same division. this comes down to me trusting brees more than cam. i mean, the panthers have a good TEAM, but cam is the ultimate jeckel and hyde QB. you never know what you're gonna get from him. saints win 23-14

falcons at rams: the rams don't have much playoff experience, but i just think they're better overall team. the falcons offense isn't as good as it was last season, and i feel like their defense is just OK. the rams are pretty balanced offensively and i think they'll have enough to beat atlanta. rams win 27-17

titans at chiefs: the chiefs have lost their last FIVE home playoff games. but i feel like they'll be able to get hunt going against a titans defense i don't trust at all. marcus mariota has taken a step back this year and murray might not even play due to some injury he suffered not too long ago.chiefs win 20 to 10

bills at jaguars: the jaguars offense is very reliant on their running game. when they don't run well, they usually don't score much. that being said, i feel like they'll be able to have some success running the ball against the bills. i think buffalos defense is gonna be on the field too much due to their offense not being able to move the ball. lesean mccoy suffered an ankle injury last game that looked severe. they said he MIGHT play, but even if he does, he probably won't be that effective due to that injury. mccoy means everything to buffalos offense,so i say jags take it.jaguars win 17 to 10.

how do you guys see these games shaking out?
