I wouldn't go that far--why not take Tkachuk/Nylander/Dubois? Trade Nugent-Hopkins or Yakupov or Eberle or someone for help on D.

I don't know how much value those players have, especially if you're looking for a player who pushes 2/3s like Klefbom and Sekera down. I don't think you can get it done without the draft pick.

But if you good, that's absolutely better. You trade older players away for D, and make your core of McDavid/Draisaitl/Hall/Klefbom younger.

Problem is, no team is going to trade a legit top pairing dman except maybe NYI (Hamonic) or MTL (Subban, and let's be real, this isn't happening).

NHL playoffs destroying the NBA playoffs once again in terms of quality games and excitement lol, starting to feel bad for all the people that never give hockey a chance and just watch all these blowouts in the NBA night after night where nothing unpredictable ever happens.

Nashville just won in triple OT, I only saw the last few minutes but sounds like a heck of a game. Sharks apparently had a goal that was waved off that should have counted in an earlier OT.

This is huge for us, I wasn't even watching the draft till i got the text from people in Edmonton who were watching lol. My excitement for next season is through the roof, after we draft Laine we will have solidified our prospect pool as the deepest in the league.

The Capitals had been coasting towards that loss since the all star break. It blows my mind how a team capable of such amazing stretches of play can't string together 60 minutes. We only lost something like 2-3 games when scoring the first goal in the regular season, but night after night we'd go out there looking like we didn't know how to skate. Then when we get in a two or three goal hole, we suddenly remember how to play hockey. Tie it? We back into a defensive shell. There's no excuse for the lack of urgency shown once we tied it tonight.

Don't exactly know what needs to be changed, but I'm sick of Holtby being hung out to dry by the offense. Ovi and the rest of the core always keep us in it, but the depth completely disappears. Where are the dirty goals? Rebounds? Deflections? Nonexistent. It's miss the net or fire the puck right into Murray's chest. The lack of finish in this series and last year's against the Rags is one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen.

    edit

Meanwhile, Tampa gets a free walk to the ECF because they were lucky enough to have a shittier regular season. f--- hockey.

Did anyone actually expect the Caps to win that series? The Pens completely own them in the playoffs. They've now played 9 times in the playoffs, Pens won 8 of the series.

Lightning lost Ben Bishop and are without Stamkos and Stralman and are still managing to handily beat the Penguins (at least going into the third). How is nobody talking about the Eastern Conference Finals right now?

Honestly I was so sure we would get him but I was thinking. We got the number 1 draft pick, assuming its Matthews hes gonna be centre. Kadri signed an extension, he's centre. Nylander, although he played wing hes also a natural centre. I think we are stacked at the centre position (Bozak if hes not traded or dealt with he would be number 4) assuming stamkos is gonna be the starter I cant see the other 3 potentially 4, fighting for number 2 and number 3. Not only that, I know stamkos is a Leafs fan, but he also wants a ring. This might be his last chance for a while. Optimistically it will take leafs a minimum 5 years to even be a contender so if he came it would be a while for him to see some legitimate action with the Leafs. Oh well us fans can dream :jordan:
