    anyone who gets that last wild card spot is going to get swept agains the caps. toronto gotta take boston's spot some how and face ottawa first round.

    still possible, you guys got 4 points on the table and are 2 points back, boston has 2 points on the table but it's against wash. and marchand out for the last game right?

    oilers will go 2-0 today and tomorrow, they want the division title. anaheim just needs a point against LA to clinch div tho, but their game is after the two between the oilers and nucks so oilers can't even bench their players and rest them.

    Yup and out of the three id rather face ottawa tbh. Would be the easiest ticket to the second round. I know we swept the season series against boston and all but theyve become one of the hottest teams the past 6 weeks.

    Btw what do you think of Marchands punishment? I think the NHL should have given him 2 season games and 2 playoff games. Especially since he is a repeat offender.

    word but he's a star player too so i'm sure that played a factor. ovechkin prob avoided a few suspensions with him leaving his feet off hits and some of the charges he's done too.

    marchand should have got more than 2 games tho, 100%.

    Ya Marchand proved his superstar status this season so he is definitely getting the crosby treatment by avoiding a harsher penalty

    so as far as i can tell, the scenarios for today are:

    - if the leafs get any points at home vs. columbus, they finish third in the atlantic and play ottawa
    - if the leafs lose in regulation, they finish fourth and cross over to play washington

    - if the ducks get any points at home vs. the kings, they win the pacific and play calgary
    - if the ducks lose in regulation AND the oilers win in regulation or overtime at home vs. vancouver, edmonton wins the pacific in a tiebreaker; edmonton plays calgary and anaheim plays san jose

    i feel two ways about it-- canada-on-canada series in the first round (we could have two) guarantees that two of those four would be eliminated, but it also guarantees two of those four go ahead to round two, you know?
