Mar 7, 2017 Since the inception of the PS3 and Xbox 360 both Sony and Microsoft gave gamers a unique system: earning achievements and trophies based on certain completed tasks within games. Achievements can be a total of 2g to 100g ranging from easy, medium and hard and will go onto your total gamerscore. Trophies on the other hand nets you a bronze, silver, gold or platinum that stays on your profile. Each has its own % and will help you in levelling up. But what about Nintendo? We've had Wii, WiiU, countless handhelds and now the Switch with no signs of a reward system. What system would you introduce? It's difficult to create something when achievements and trophies work so well. Nintendo's system might feel obsolete and a downgrade in comparison. What I'd do is blend and adapt upon both achievement and trophy systems to create: Nintendo Ribbons. There will be 4 different ribbons to attain and their respective points: Yellow - 2 points Green - 4 points Red - 6 points Blue - 8 points When earned in-game the points will to go towards your ribbon meter. Upon filling the meter to a 100% you will earn a different coloured ribbon on your profile e.g. level 1 earns you a brown ribbon, level 2 earns you a white ribbon and so on. Therefore gamers will have: Achievements - e.g. 43,000g ranging from 2g, 20g, 100g Trophies - e.g. Level 8 with 20 Bronze, 15 Silver, 8 Gold and 1 Platinum Ribbons - White Ribbon user with 12 Yellow ribbons, 9 Green ribbons, 5 Red ribbons and 2 Blue ribbons. What system would you rather have?
