@theg if you don't want the game I've been hearing that Sony is giving refunds (digital) because the game was falsely advertised as a multiplayer game. If you try just be sure to include that you thought it was multi. It can only be PSN funds back into your wallet tho

Make sure it's online chat help too

Heard this game is capped at 30fps on ps4 w/ some drops and has some awful FOV....thankfully (if i do end up purchasing) I'll be getting it on PC on release so should be a crisp 60+ and I can extend the FOV

for the love of god don't buy it for $60 dollars. download the gog version from tpb or something and buy it later if you like it when it's on sale, but it's not a $60 game

I have been hearing a lot of bad reception and I usually do my best to avoid bad games but I've been looking forward to this for 2 years :/

it's pretty comfy to just wander around planets and find stuff...for like an hour
it gets really boring and repetitive when you realize a lot of the aliens are just deer with different horns/scales/colors. i'm pretty sure I read there were 6 base bodytypes for all life in the game, and those 6 body types get mixed and matched with horns and decorations and s---, and the proportions are changed around, and the heads are different, but it's really not as much variation as they lead everyone to believe. i went to 2 separate planets and found 2 separate species of deers with these weird bug head things. it just gets lame after a while. the combat isn't very good, at all. people will say "but the games not an fps combats not the point" but regardless of it not being the point its clunky and not fluid at all. the inventory is a mess. there's no real "missions" or anything. all intelligent life is just robots. there are some variation in planets, i mean i went to a planet that was mostly water and a planet that was one giant desert, but after the first few planets it's really just like who gives a s---. there's nothing you can *do* with the animals, so its like, on the off chance that you actually find something cool there's not a real point to it. it'd be a fun little comfy exploration sim for about $15, but that's all it is, an indie space exploration game. definitely not worth full price.

jesus only 6 body types?

thats something I could see getting super old...after awhile of playing the game and a major selling point is discovering yet you've seen all the animals a thousand times already...

I'm hoping some of these flaws will be mediated on pc like combat and inventory

I guess I'll have to wait until some professional reviews come out before I decide to buy, thanks for some guidance tho

no problem, but i'd still recommend getting the gog version first, then buying it if you like it and feel it's worth the money. it's not what they've been advertising it as.

Apparently the server's were having constant drops and that's why those 2 players couldn't see it each other. Take that as you like.

I personally think the developer thought with a game world so big you'd never run into anyone but evidently it happened within 24 hours.

Fam I been following this since the day they announced it I watched like 20 hours worth of preview footage and speculation and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt this is nowhere near what they advertised it as and I could only recommend it for like 15/20 bucks... I'm going into game stop tomorrow to get a refund.

And honestly like it's not bad I enjoyed it but it's like destiny where they made it seem like it was gonna be some amazing and unique space game and then it's just like a decent game not bad but not even close to living up to the hype.

At least we know the reason why Destiny ended up in the shape that it did.

No Man's Sky is really just an example of ambition running the show. They wanted to create universe and they succeeded. But they never really figured out a way to make it matter enough. To be fair, our own universe can be described in the same way, but NMS is a video game so it doesn't get that excuse.

Still, I'm not throwing in the towel just yet. Mostly because NMS always seemed like a slow burn of a game to me. Even more so than other games. So I guess it just depends. It's hard to judge a game like NMS after 10 or even 20 hours of playing it. I wanna believe the game is filled with secrets. But, as of right now, it didn't meet the hype. Not that it ever could. But it didn't even get close.

Too bad they didn't have human races in it. I know the "It could be out there on one of the 18 quintillion planets" is an excuse but having other humans elsewhere would have been cool. I didn't pick it up but watching footage on Tuesday made me intrigued. Though I don't want to spend 90 bucks on this if I'll prob get bored of it in 4 hours.
