    1989 is a near-perfect pop album. TPAB (despite some brilliant moments) is deeply flawed and embarrassingly try-hard. It isn't close.

    1989 takes no risks and will be forgotten about in the next few years, kendrick is actually trying to talk about issues within the community.

    We should all agree that "my opinion on [whatever] hasn't changed in [however long]" celebrates an attitude that's categorically uncritical.

    That's the ego of the critic talking without the spirit of critique.
