May 28, 2015 TPAB can be considered a disappointment in a sense because we expected improvement from GKMC, and he went in a direction nobody was expecting with TPAB. However, it wasn't completely flawed like some of you have said. I see too many opinions on this site where an album a classic, and if it's not its just kind of cast off as sub par. TPAB has flaws, but as a whole it grades out as a really good album.

May 28, 2015 @Narsh in all seriousness, i think that you're jumping through hoops to give weight to things that are pretty obviously failures (the interview is a good case study). you can think an album is good, great, classic, near-classic, whatever without endorsing all parts of it. you keep talking about me trying to make things fit a certain narrative, but that's actually something you have to divorce yourself from--the interview is horseshit, but that doesn't necessarily sink the album. i just keep coming back to it because it's emblematic of most of its larger problems.
May 28, 2015 i like TPAB, but i don't like kendrick jerking off his own ego and wasting 5 minutes of an album explaining why his album is so deep and poetic, and pretending to be homies with a dead man who has nothing in common with him
May 28, 2015 i think the album has great moments but it's just his worst album. I wouldn't qualify it as a stain on his catalog but I hope that he does better next time. What worries me is that if the whole world d-ck-rides him, he will think that he is going to the right direction.
