Aug 21, 2021 Yeah exactly. To you. And I agree btw w good kid and mbdtf. But personally yeezus is just a good album for me where others would laugh at that and say its a classic (or some losers even insult me for it). Thats why I said its hard to really define a classic still so short after its release.
Aug 21, 2021 His voice on medicine man and talk about it definitely not for me either but he sounds fine on the rest of the album imo. Especially my diary, all on me, deep water, all in a days work. Man mentioning these songs want to make me relisten already
Aug 21, 2021 Listening to 2001 today was mind blowing my god. Might be the greatest hip hop album of all time.
Aug 21, 2021 As discussed, not a classic but a surprisingly good album in a very late period of Dre career. It sounded exactly like it was supposed to be, I dont know how else can i explain it. However, much like 2001, the album drags on the second half As for his voice, I think he mimicked Kendrick weird cadences, since he was a huge influence around that time
Aug 21, 2021 Idk… his voice just doesn’t hit the same I guess. It’s very noticeable for my ears, if it wasn’t, I’d probably like the album a bit more.
Aug 21, 2021 Good album. I was happy when Dre finally let his stuff onto Spotify. We throwing the word classic around too often.
Aug 21, 2021 Good album. Not a classic. To be a classic, an album has to be highly influential to the culture.
Aug 21, 2021 Nah classic is like if it's on a whole nother level, nobody else is doing this, forces everyone to stop in their tracks, and still constantly gets talked about and put on a pedestal with other artists "whoa this is like his ______" etc. Compton's a hella good closing album from Dre, all the room in the world for it to be a letdown after the long Detox hype, and it resisted that pretty successfully. But outside of here, no one's rly talking about it or playing it much anymore.
