maybe not a CLASSIC, but a deeply underrated overlooked project that i revisit way more than plenty of supposed better albums

No. And that's coming from a die hard Dre fan.

It's a great album without a doubt and doesn't get the love it deserves but "classic" is not something that can be thrown around.

Very forgettable project imo… dre’s voice is bad on Compton. Obviously because of age but Yh, it isn’t a classic album in my book.

I still think the word classic is kinda meaningless to an extent tho. I said yes because I f---ing love it but yeah. What defines classic? What albums of the last 10 years are "classics" , to each their own I think.

Honestly Justus was better than half of his other garbage pail prodigies like Jon Connor and Bishop Lamont. That dude floated on that album lol.

I thought he was only featured on one song. I liked his hook on there though

It's not a classic and not even a dope album. Dre had a new production crew those days, Trevor, Focus, Andre Brisset, Dem Jointz, Blu2th, Curtis Chambers, Ron Feemster and Fredwreck. He also had new artists like Sly Pyper, Anderson Paak, King Mez, Justus, Candice, Jon Connor... He wanted to see what they are capable of. Like he did on Aftermath compilation. Compton s----d so bad really even worse than aftermath s----d. I think dre even so dissapointed with the result and he didnt even promoted it. Lately Focus complained about the guy who mastered the album and even complained about a few mixes with saying "i didnt do it alone". Compton only helped Anderson Paak to glow and he was the only artist had the chance to get a record deal with aftermath. Also compton helped Dre to figure out this new production crew doesnt work well for him. Maybe thats why he called Mark Batson and Dawaun parker to work together on Eminem's MTBMB albums. As we see result is satisfying. Premonition, Never Love Again, Little Engine, Discombombulated are great songs. Dre always became succesful with good co-producers and musicians which have chemistry with Dre. You can count, Glove, Daz, Sam Sneed, Bud'da, Mel-Man, Camara Kambon, Scott Storch, Mike Elizondo... But Focus, Dem Jointz, Trevor and the others unfortunately pulls Dre back in the studio instead pushing him to higher level.

never understood the issue people have with Dre's voice on Compton and recent features. He sounds older for sure but he still sounds great to me—it's not different enough that it's even that noticeable to me.
