People are allowed to express their disappointment as much as you are allowed to express your excitement. No one is (or should be) knocking you for being happy.

I agree with you that people shouldn't stereotype Trump supporters. There intentions are diverse. Still, it does not deny the reality, that there has been a percentage of Trump supporters that are racists and were motivated to vote for him because of this. Again, it's a moot point here as one shouldn't be dismissive of them at large.

What did Republicans accomplish by taking an obstructionist approach to politicking when Obama was elected?

I find it is absurd to expect Democrats to compromise after dealing with a Congress that has been "my way or the highway."

They need to understand why they lost, adjust certain financial policies afflicting Americans, and keep pushing forward because Democrats are on the right side of history when it comes to social issues.

The thing is.... republicans have control of congress. The alt-right have taken over the Republican Party and other moderate republicans see trump winning and now are going to be forced to cater to that base. I doubt we see any resistance from there. Then we have the Supreme Court which is suppose to be nonpartisan but we know it's not. Trump has the ability to nominate multiple Supreme Court justices there as well. He's in a unique position right now....
