Maybe. Crime rates were pretty high in the 80's and he's positioned himself as someone who wants to be hard on crime so maybe not. That's the thing about speaking in generalities, you never know unless the person clarifies.

What do you mean impose the fear they can now? It's not like Trump's going to be handing out pardons to people committing race crimes.

Yeah it's been bad in the city here. Trump supporters getting dragged out of their own cars and getting jumped.

But when you consider how conservative Romney was in comparison to how so many around the country (and this thread for example) view Trump, it's pretty stunning that he was even able to match, let alone exceed Romney's totals.

Yeah but most of the media didn't cover Hillary calling them super predators so probably half(maybe more) of the voters weren't aware of that or Hillary's hot sauce comments.

I'm black and a lot of my friends were aware of it. A lot of us assumed to America progressed too much to elect someone like Trump. We were wrong

I mean it depends how you define frequently. Like I've stated in the past the # of undocumented Mexican immigrants living in the U.S. is trending downward. Net migration between the U.S. and Mexico has been 0 for a while now. It's certainly an issue that needs to be addressed but Trump exaggerated it tremendously.

Dude it's f---ing 2016... Modern America... You really think after giving rights to people, the government is just going to come in and take those rights away 2 years later? Like "Oh sorry you can't declare you are gay anymore and serve in the military! If you have already, we are going to use gay conversion therapy to revert you back!" Shut the f--- up you are an American with rights living in modern times. There would be huge repercussions if the government started doing things on the level you seem to believe will happen. Progress toward civil rights for these advocacy groups will obviously slow, but you are the delusional one if you think your life as a gay white male is suddenly ruined. I think my last thoughts on this are simply this; I can't deny that I'm dissatisfied about the outcome of this election and what it says about a lot of demographics here but ultimately life goes on and this country is far too great for things to suddenly fall apart as recent doomsayers are predicting. Democracy has spoken and now we wait and see what happens, if things work let's keep it if not then that's why we have f---ing elections.

Like I said "first black president". And when you look at percentages, he didn't do well at all. He lost by 80 points to Clinton when it came to blacks and 36 points when it came to blacks. That's not good at all
