    fair enough, but once you're a victim of discrimination in any capacity, you'll understand why discrimination is not okay in any context.

    It still doesn't explain how the government can threaten you with violence for politely declining a customer based on religious beliefs, which is my real roadblock for not supporting full on anti discrimination laws when it comes to businesses

    i don't think the government should have a place to say they have to serve someone they don't want to is what it comes down to
    whether they base that on race, gender, temperament, shirt color, whatever.
    isnt it his right to believe whatever he believes though
    and its not a matter of a monopoly being set up of a certain service or store like shoes are only sold to white people by everybody
    if someone creates that hole, it WILL be filled by people who want to make the money the racists are pissing away by being racist
    i don't agree with the idea but if someone wants to be ignorant they should be allowed to be ignorant

    See, I don't believe this. Time allows acceptance. There's a reason why we don't have people walking around openly using the n-word anymore. We forced people to accept one another. That doesn't mean racism no longer exists but we've become a more accepting society because of that.

    yea but that would never happen
    it wouldnt be possible
    even if some how (which again isnt possible) some state had 100% of their stores discriminating against a certain denomination, that void WILL be filled by someone who wants to take that money
    it's just that simple, it would never happen

    it's not about the laws though, it's about discrimination as a principle. what theg said is absolutely true, if one shop discriminates the other will prosper. but only if discrimination is accepted as problematic.

    but with people like you, i'm not sure it is.
