Apr 3, 2021 I mean I get what @WPG is saying... supporting Rep. Katie Porter is exactly the same as supporting Rep. Matt Gaetz... and supporting Rep. AOC is exactly the same as supporting Rep. MTG. Supporting Sen. Tammy Duckworth is exactly the same as supporting Sen. Ron Johnson... and supporting Sen. Sherrod Brown is exactly the same as Sen. Ted Cruz. I'm stupid and being tricked and wpg is super smart and knows there is no difference between the Republicans and the Democrats and it is important to always bash the Democrats.
Apr 3, 2021 it’s soooooooooooo embarrassing that you can’t defend your asinine, middle school worldview so you flail and fumble and make these straw men that even our dumbest members can see i’m not arguing. you need a nap.
Apr 3, 2021 me: we should demand that the party in control of the house, senate, and white house govern in the best interests of its constituents res: STOP BEING SO MEAN TO REP. KATIE PORTER you f---ing loser lol
Apr 3, 2021 Genuine question: do you believe your interests represent the interests of the Democratic Party as a whole? Or like the median Democratic voter? The Democratic Party does a pretty good job at representing its constituents imo. It can be improved, sure but I can’t tell if you’re saying they’re behold to corporate interests entirely & don’t care about their constituents or...? Because that’s just like...not true at all.
Apr 3, 2021 res’s entire argument is that i should be “nicer” to elected democrats—not that i should vote differently, or volunteer for different candidates, or donate to different campaigns, but be nicer. here, on this forum. that’s his beef with me, no matter how he tries to spin it. in many offices and in many ways, democrats are not doing what they can or (to me) should be doing to address the needs of their constituents, especially the most vulnerable ones. i’m not sure how me arguing that democrats should work to close that gap is somehow beyond the pale. i’m also totally disinterested in arguing over whether politicians “care” about whoever or whatever. what does that mean? i’m voting for people to govern, not voting for people whose innermost thoughts and feelings i’m praying are pure and good. (but, no, i don’t believe that biden and harris *care* about—to pick an example out of thin air—incarcerated people.)
Apr 3, 2021 Maybe “don’t care” was the wrong way to phrase it. I meant more so: do you believe Democrats govern in the best interests of their constituents? I just really hate the idea that money/big corporations dictate everything in politics. I think it ruins the discourse & disengages ordinary people from participating in politics. Not to mention, it’s just wrong. So I’m doing my best to try to push back on that in 2021. I don’t know if that’s what you were trying to get at or not though.
Apr 3, 2021 i only know who one of these people is i mean, how am i supposed to answer this, dude. lol. sometimes yes, sometimes no. depends on the law, depends on the democrat. i frankly find this a very strange position. as trite as it sounds money does dictate politics to an insane degree, even if you look at campaign finance in a vacuum. this is something everybody knows, consciously or otherwise, and is one reason politicians who (sincerely or in bad faith) can tap into voters’ frustration over that can gain followings.
Apr 4, 2021 *are Big surprise.... you're completely politically illiterate. Which one of these grifters you know and model your politics around?
Apr 4, 2021 I mean you were the one that demanded the party govern in best interests of their constituents. I figured you would have at least a general idea of how they’re doing in that regard lol. I agree money has a significant impact but I’m more so getting at the illuminati esque rhetoric about politicians being beholden to donors. It goes against the academic research on this matter: We can acknowledge the impact corporations/money has without making them out to be these master puppeteers with our elected officials on strings.
Apr 4, 2021 “american politicians are unduly beholden to their donors and those donors’ industries” is not comparable to “the illuminati rules the world,” my guy
Apr 4, 2021 You are the professional writer... on the same level as Tim Pool and Dave Rubin... you just don't get Koch Industry and Mercer family money. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lis...dorsements_from_organizations#Activist_groups Are these the organization that make you hate President Biden so f---ing much?
Apr 4, 2021 “president biden” is a strong beautiful virtuous man whose honor i will defend with my life because he got donations from political interest groups when he became the democratic nominee for president. i’m an adult and this is how i process politics
Apr 4, 2021 Wow. You got me... maybe you should be President. You're so f---ing smart because you figured out politicians aren't complete angels. I guess I should just slam the Democrats with you and JMG. . Don't want to be a nerd or something. Maybe I'll start following qanon and quit my Unions and sell MAGA merchandise online and at Trump rallies.
Apr 4, 2021 in res's mind there are two options: be a pathetic lapdog for democrats—never so much as suggest they could do something better—or be a republican. if biden came out tomorrow in favor of slavery res would be like “you don’t get it, there are lots of economic benefits and this could help in the midterms”
Apr 4, 2021 *Res' I guess we will see tomorrow. Yesterday he came out against Georgia and Texas return to Jim Crow voting laws... so, that's not likely. Earlier in the week he announced an Infrastructure plan that would put millions of people to work at Davis Bacon wages ($30 to $90 an hour regular time no college degree required)... So, that would be quite a turn for him... but if he did try to bring back slavery... I wouldn't vote for him again and wouldn't support any candidate that was pro-slavery. Serious question... do you believe in qanon or something now, Paul?
Apr 4, 2021 yeah res, the only way someone would ever take issue with joe biden is if they’re a qanon person
Apr 4, 2021 I mean I do... but then again I know his policies. You're literally just shilling against him and all Democrats by saying they are politicians and therefore no better than the party of delusional fascists.
