Jul 22, 2017 Ishii/Ibushi tonight edit Starting night 3 now, got way too high and fell asleep last night
Jul 22, 2017 I'm gonna wait on English commentary for last night to go up before I watch It's taken way longer than it normally does, idk what the deal is it should've been up hours ago
Jul 22, 2017 Finlay/Ibushi/Makabe vs Gedo/Ishii/Goto - 3.5 El Desperado/ZSJ vs Jado/Yoshi-hashi - 3.5 Bushi/Naito/Takahashi vs Takahashi/Fale/Owens - 3.5 Evil/Juice - 3.75 Suzuki/Sanada - 4.25 Omega/Tonga - 4.25 Okada/Elgin - 5 We don't deserve this Spent like 10 minutes looking for it today lol, couldn't wait any longer. Love the Japanese enthusiasm, they sound so natural.
Jul 22, 2017 My thoughts on night 3 @Raziel for future reference Finlay/Ibushi/Makabe vs Gedo/Ishii/Goto - ***1/4 Bushi/Naito/Takahashi vs Takahashi/Fale/Owens - ***1/2 Evil/Juice - ***1/2 Suzuki/Sanada - ****1/4 Omega/Tonga - **** Okada/Elgin - ****3/4 I can't for the life of my like Juice Robinson....I give him credit for example tonight for a good performance but there's just things about him that put me off on him (same for David Finlay) I would say that a 4* rating proves that Omega is mortal but this was 85% story progression and 15% wrestling match. Still the worst Kenny match in a long loooong time. Main event was tremendous. I put it up there with Omega/Suzuki and Naito/Ibushi for best matches of the G1 so far.
Jul 22, 2017 Forgot about that one. I had that at like 3 1/2 or 3 3/4 They were about the same honestly except this match had the benefit of added drama because Tama Tonga is a psychopath
Jul 22, 2017 I thought it was great Tonga could be top tier if he was given more time/quality opponents. Were heading towards a 4.5 if Tonga could have gotten some more heat on Kenny, felt pretty one sided for the B*** of the match. Showed he could hang.
Jul 23, 2017 Lucha Undergroud had two insane matches this week. Son of Havoc/some Fox dude killed each other and Ricochet/PJ Black had one of the craziest non New Japan matches of the year. Probably tail end of my top 10.
Jul 23, 2017 If you wanna look at @Pinhead and my thoughts and maybe just watch 4*+ matches?? Still hard though man these nights are so full of stellar work LOT of bullet club story progression throughout too so it sucks that ppl will miss out
Jul 23, 2017 This schedule is starting to wear on me. These WWE shows are just work at this point Takahashi/Evil vs Tonga/Owens - 3.25 Omega/Takahashi vs Yano/Jado - 3 Bushi/Sanada vs Gedo/Okada - 3 Don't blame them one bit but holy s--- did these f---ing guys take a night off ZSJ/Yoshi-hashi - 3.75 Tanahashi/Nagata - 4 (maybe 4.25) Fale/Naito - 3.5 Ibushi/Ishii - 4.25 Makabe/Goto - 4 I'd just start with New Japan main events from the big shows over the years honestly. The hour long Punk/Joe matches are pretty essential.
Jul 24, 2017 Just finished night 3 and it was better than night 2 imo. The tag matches have gotten better with each show. I was surprised with the ending of the Naito vs yoshi match. My favorite if the night was either that or the zsj/ Ibushi match. I also really enjoyed the bullet club tag match and the sanada/evil tag mstch. Also, David Finlay has got to go with his one move per match bs, all he does is throw f---ing uppercuts
Jul 24, 2017 @NJPWBros Bryan Alvarez & Meltzer talk about how this year 'is by far the greatest year of matches in wrestling ever' and how it's only halfway over. Also says that the first four nights of the G1 are easily the best start to a G1 ever. Can't say I disagree...just an example my favorite run ever was Austin in 2001 and I was debating if Okada's year was better MONTHS AGO....add that with NJPW being a thousand times better down the card than WWF in 2001 and it's no competition....G1 has just started and the year isn't even over It's incredible and I'm loving it
Jul 24, 2017 Gotta agree with @Pinhead on night 5... ZSJ/Yoshi-hashi - 3.75 Tanahashi/Nagata - 4 Fale/Naito - 3.5 Ibushi/Ishii - 4.25 Makabe/Goto - 4 You know it's crazy when I Ishii/Ibushi is that good and yet you're still disappointed and it's nowhere near the best matches so far
