Aug 16, 2017 Not really feeling the ink. I mean, I don't really care cause Fale is basically a lost cause for me right now anyway. Guy has gained tons of weight...if ya'll watch some old matches from a few years ago you'll see current talent as young boys around the ring....saw a young Fale the other night and he looked about 30 pounds lighter and like he cared for the business.
Aug 17, 2017 Shadows of their early matches, they're great but I can imagine how unbelievable they'd be if Tanahashi was 2-3 years younger.
Aug 17, 2017 Actually it was just Page/Cody vs War Machine for the heavyweight tag titles and Bucks vs Taguci/Ricochet for the Junior titles. Had both at 3.75
Aug 17, 2017 I haven't finished the chaos vs lij match or the omega/Naito match but man, how's about that intermission?
Aug 17, 2017 The night before. They had a big multi man match where every member of BC missed a moonsault. I think it was chase Owens instead of Page tho. He was asking about other matches because he already planned to watch all of the the final night .
Aug 17, 2017 Meltzer gave the third Okada vs Omega encounter 6 stars, and gave Omega vs Naito 5.75. Tanahashi vs Naito also got 5 stars
Aug 17, 2017 I think giving a number exceeding 5 when you're using a 5* grading scale is r-----ed. Dave must really be trying to drive home the fact that these aren't just 5* matches, they are superior to the other 5* matches. That being said I think this has been the best month in wrestling history...with those last three nights being the icing on the cake. I have OkadaOmega3 5* and OmegaNaito 5* too...both are two of the best matches ever but I'm actually gonna give the edge to OmegaNaito. I didn't go the full 5 for Tana/Naito but I do think it's their best match this year and a nearly perfect 4.75* match. I think it edges out the other matches in the G1 too Just incredible tho, love this company right now
Aug 17, 2017 Well guys, I just finished the final showcase it was an amazing conclusion to a very entertaining tournament. I haven't watched this much wrestling ever in my life but I'm glad I experienced the G1 in all of its glory. It was a great introduction to some amaxing talents and I can't wait to see more. Thank you again @Changeling @Gloku @Pinhead and all the other @NJPWBros who contribute to this thread and help introduce people like myself to an amazing company
Aug 17, 2017 I know I'm late af but once I'm done moving i will have a s----ton of free time so i will watch G1 then. Hate me all you want but soon enough I'll be in the loop.
Aug 17, 2017 This is for anyone who has completed the g1 I haven't seen a single mention of Spoiler Shibata's appearance
Aug 17, 2017 Spoiler It was a great moment. He was one of my top favorite guys I'm the world before he got hurt...Even though he loves pro wrestling I hope they keep in in the role as a trainer or something....I remember watching his match with Okada and I knew he would not come out of that match okay after that dumb headbutt spot.
Aug 17, 2017 Spoiler yeah, the back bump he did makes me wonder if he plans on wrestling though. I go back to thinking about how Austin is one bump away from potentially being crippled and can't help but think that if Shibata was in THAT bad of shape he wouldn't be doing any bumps, unless he loves wrestling more than anything in the world. I love/hate that my first match of his was with Okada and the feeling I had after the match was "this is the guy to watch" and then shortly after that, you told me of his injury. I've literally been checking up on this dude almost every day since then to find any info on him. I'm glad he's making somewhat of a recovery and it was very moving to see him smile and shed a couple tears. Just as beautiful as the Nagata send off with Fale
Aug 17, 2017 Spoiler Yeah, even worse it was the cumulation of years of putting in his dues and climbing to the top of NJPW. A lot of people pencilled him in to maybe taking the title off one of these guys at some point in the next year if he hadn't gotten hospitalized. I had only watched him this past year since the Dome show (and watched dozens of his old matches on njpwworld), but a lot of the long time fans were seeing it as him finally getting his big pay off. Sucks what happened to him
Aug 17, 2017 So, the upcoming shows, do they have a lot singles matches for guys like evil, Sanada, juice etc or do they utilize tag matches to the extent of the g1? Id love to see more of these guys solo work
