Sep 10, 2015 https://m.soundcloud.com/dark-matta/welcome New grime/trap beat I produced not mastered on purpose
Sep 10, 2015 posting this for some quick thoughts/feedback on it from anyone that might see it, but i'll be taking it right back down, so sorry if you miss it -Removed it- right now I like the way it's going but, I'm thinking about changing the end up a bit so it flows better as a song imo. I'm thinking I'll remove 4:26-4-46, and add a softer sounding riser in the background during what is currently 4:46-5:28, while re-arranging it so that 4:22-4:26 takes place after 5:28 instead of where it currently is, and that immediately drops into another 1:36-2:16 and ends the song? or should I just leave it as it is? f--- my life... idk, just brainstorming here and trying to figure out what I'm going to do so I can finish this song and finally start to get vocal work on it out of the way @CreativeSXN
Sep 10, 2015 @Cyreides honestly, I was not feeling it at first. I don't know why but it just wasn't clicking with me. I think it may be that... pipe-synth-sound (idk how to describe what it is, I'm not a producer) that isn't sitting right but I'm not 100% positive. HOWEVER, I really really started liking it once that piano started really kicking in. After that point it was great. Personally I think you should just leave it as is.
Sep 10, 2015 I'm very tempted to leave it as it, but I was really wanting to bring that first drop back in for a second time to bring the song full circle and go out with a b--- and be able to actually have a chorus that can be repeated, but that's gonna really add length and it's already sitting at 5:34. dunno if anyone's gonna wanna hear a 6 minute Cyreides song lol, oh the production struggles do you mean the water drop samples?
Sep 10, 2015 no I quite enjoy those. they sound like something that would be called "pipes" lol I don't know how else to put it
Sep 10, 2015 thank god, because I was about to cry since that's like legit one of my favorite things that came outta this song oh that synth i guess it does sit a little at odds with some of the other sounds of the production, as it's a very synth-ey synth against more ambient/natural sort of sounding bass and piano and the reverb'd water drop samples
Sep 10, 2015 guess I'll probably save this version and then use a copy of it to make the changes i proposed. I'll re-listen one after the other and see which one feels better/more natural for the song and maybe post both for comparison (i probably should've done that in the first place). i'll leave that up tho for the next hour or so though, for anyone else to give their feedback on it before I take it down
Sep 10, 2015 This is just me but after that rise and drop around 4:26, I'd leave it as the pad synth going with the main synth low in the back ground with a bit of distortion thrown in while fading out. It sounds ugly wen reading it but if I could show you what I mean, you'd get what I'm getting at
Sep 11, 2015 just take a lot of tutorials and try to gather as much feedback as you can from people, good or bad. also pay close attention to the genres of music you're trying to make when you listen to other artists to see and think about how they do s---, and you'll get there. I'm not even that good, and I slack on stuff like that anymore so you could probably do better in the same amount of time if you just give it enough effort
Sep 11, 2015 Everyone should try NI Studio Drummer. It's good for rap beats with live instruments. Either that, or Boom Bap Drummer or Battery 4 for everything else. I've been fucknig with those for a minute. Just download MIDI patterns and you're set. Saves you having to go through countless samples to find the right drums when you can tweak your own with everything already mapped out for your keyboard. Oh, well, I guess you can also just get samples and assign them to a key one by one after dragging the samples into Kontakt.
Sep 11, 2015 Hey guys, I just dropped a new beat; let me know what you think Btw, if you wanna use it just hmu and I'll give you a download link
