Jun 21, 2015 Hearing mixed feelings about the new season. I knew it'd be hard for them to top such a great first season with likes of Cary and Matt but I had hope. I'm hoping i'll be surprised though.

Jun 21, 2015 Incredibly different from season one but this episode was f---ing great. One episode in and Ray is already in my top 10 television characters of all-time. One down, seven to go and I cannot f---ing wait.

Jun 22, 2015 So Rachel McAdam's character is a freak in the sheets. Has complicated feelings about sex considering her opinion of her sister. (dat a---) Ray had the best character building moments. Shaping up nice. Non of Collin's usual accent problems that I noticed. Vince Vaughn is passable. Looks like he gives a s--- so hopefully we'll see him get more to work with. Nice to see Taylor Kitsch get his second wind. His post Friday Night Lights work as been subject to s--- material. The opening episode had to break in too many characters. Felt like Magnolia trying to keep up. Should be a good foundation. I'm excited. Haven't missed Fukunaga as much as I thought I would. Hopefully that doesn't change. Nor the cinematographer (Adam Arkapaw). It looks pretty. I just want more of a thematic stamp. Felt a little less purposeful. I want to let it slide because it's Leonard Cohen. He's a great fit for TD. Way passed his peak unfortunately.
Jun 22, 2015 thought the credits were cool tbh haha also, i definitely missed fukanaga...aside from a few great shots and bait & switches it was like copy-pasting aerial shots...less purposeful for sure also, did dude pop a viagra? lolol
Jun 22, 2015 Sure, the aerial shots aren't very interesting but we don't have the luxury of setting like with season one. Pointing the camera at anything there was pretty interesting. The environment was a character within itself. There were some cool ideas still. They used a mounted car cam, used relfections a few times, opening car interior convo had a lot of layers to it, the camera remaining outside while masked up Ray headed in for the strong arm, etc. Definitely was a viagra. Little blue pill plus he had to stay in the bathroom until it took effect. He's got demons for sure. The whole scar thing from his past and his reckless behavior on the freeway. Lots of stuff dealing with sex. Almost every character has intimacy and issues.
