If you all are serious about getting into NJPW, all major events from now on (starting like the beginning of this year) have English commentary..they are also recording english commentary for older matches too, AND looking to launch an English site. NJPW world is around $8.50 or so a month.

I could help make a starter guide thread with descriptions of the top stars and their place in the company, the major tournaments and PPVs, and Factions

Here is a link to a spread sheet that includes quick links for NJPW World to HUNDREDS of the must see matches of the past 40 years on NJPW, so you don't have to navigate the site to find old matches:




All you would have to do would be look up a match and date on CAGEMATCH.net (wrestling database), then find that date and match on the spreadsheet and click the link.

Is this the only thread so far?

Been going through some essential matches lately using that list. What I used to watch months of WWE for, I'm now getting every single event. It kills me that I've been missing out on this when I watched Raw pretty much every week from 02-13. Even DDT - I watched Ibushi/Omega a few days back and I've never felt a rush like that watching wrestling. They really are changing the game.

@WrestlingBros again for those who are seriously wanting to get into NJPW, now is a great time as the NJPW Cup is about to start on the 11th of this month.

It's a 16 man elimination style tournament with some of the biggest stars in NJPW competing. The winner gets his choice of challenging for the IWGP heavyweight, IWGP light heavyweight, or NEVER weight championships

Lot of great matches to be had here, with names like Kenny Omega, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Michael Elgin, Katsuyori Shibata, and Minoru Suzuki featured in the tournament


The finals will be hosted in English on March 20th


Can't stress enough how good of a primer this would be for New Japan

I've watched the Sabre debut match against Shibata, and LIJ vs Tanahashi,KUSHIDA, and Juice Robinson

Gonna finish up later tonight before Raw probably

U still need to watch honor rising second night too

That being said u guys can still just watch wwe and be hyped for Parttimermania w/ the main event Bill Oldterd vs Bork Laser with special match AJ Styles vs someone who isn't a wrestler

but I've accepted that there are greener pastures so I'm gonna move away from that garbage above and onto better wrestling

Yep, gonna finish up Honor Rising either tonight or tomorrow (I'm off work tomorrow and only have one class, so probably then) and then watch the 45th Anniversary Shows, and then watch PWG Mystery Vortex 4

Think I'm gonna start watching ROH too, and I'm contemplating giving the new Impact Wrestling a shot on Thursday. So much wrestling, so little time lol

I watch every week on AXS...do u think it'll be better on NJPW English?

JR's commentary isn't very good on AXS...he half a----s it since they're just recording it in a studio
