Yeah this was discussed in the Observer a few weeks ago. It really depends on the UFC/Fox negotiations.

Meltzer noted that if this did happen, Raw would air on Fox and be cut back down to 2 hours, and Smackdown would air on Fox Sports 1

lol no need to take it that seriously m8, he was just mocking Vince's comment and comparing it to raw..

Anyways this is almost definitely gonna flop imo, they're trying to create a 'hard' image for the game itself while saying they'll only allow 'good people' into their league, for example Vince said if you have a DUI you won't be allowed in the league. Apparently Manziel already showed interest in the XFL and being allowed to play there, but sounds like he wouldn't even be allowed, which is probably a poor business decision cuz as much as most people dislike Manziel, he'd still bring eyes to the product..

I don't know, I just can't see this going too well based off some early details here.

It was a football league Vince tried to create in the early 2000s that quickly flopped and he ended it. It basically had rules to make the game more 'hardcore and exciting', like no fair catches, only 1 foot in bounds needed, no coin toss(instead they fought for the ball to decide who'd get it first), etc.

Vince McMahon launched his own football league back in 2001. No really, he got a massive amount of money and created his own American football league.

It was a reflection of wwe at the time and a few years prior, a lot of the rules were changed to portray violence and excitement. Cheerleaders were scantily clad, new camera angles were used

It flopped, now he's bringing it back 20 years later now that streaming is so big , this time he is the sole owner

XFL might actually work this time. The CFL & AFL have lost basically all their popularity and the NFL is on a decline for viewership as well. As long as this dosent differ from the game too much it may work out. They could also eventually implement a draft system for leagues in Europe, amateur leagues etc. Also throwing in the fact Vince could afford a higher cap than the CFL players would be able to make more and may jump ship. Who am I kidding I just wanna see "HE HATE ME" one more time
