Ronda Becky is supposedly off this Sundays card due to an injury to Becky, I guess Nia elbowed her in the face and may have broken her nose and given her a concussion.

Well that sucks, it was an interesting feud and WWE was really hyping it quite a bit. Wonder what they do now.

Raw finally has a great moment last night with bloody Becky and it ends up canceling their biggest match of SS...huge bummer.

I’d be pissed if I was still going to go to SS but I’m only going to NXT anyway lol

@Kon i got my buddies network and although I haven't had time in months to watch being able to pop in a random 98-99 raw and seeing Austin run roughshod over Vince and the wwf is worth $10 alone

I love watching 97-99 Austin...the pops he’d get are even more amazing watching them today.

2000 too...one of the best years WWF ever had, quality wise, which is crazy seeing as Austin was there for most of it. 1997 is still probably #1 for me but 2000 was really great too.

There was that one night Austin would just come out randomly during matches and give the competitors stunners and leave :lmaooo:

    For me it's

    98>01>99>97=00>

But the first part of 99>>>>> everything ever

01 for the in-ring production only and Austin's year of matches are literally the best of anybody in wwe history

Definitely true...in ‘01 he went away from his brawling style and we back to being the grest technical wrestler he was earlier in his career. He was on a mission to have great matches with all the best workers in the company. His matches with Angle, and there were a couple Benoit matches on Smackdown I remember being f---ing amazing.

It was like his last gift to us before injuries put him out of commission. I think he said 2001 was the best he felt since 98 :kdotcry:

I hate people that act like he was a great character and was just basic enough to get by in the ring. No he was f---ing great there's more to wrestling than flips and jumps

So when I turned raw on 4 times yesterday 3 out of the 4 were all women segments. One was a match that I didn’t care to watch where I saw Fin (the demon) come out, but the guys he was facing wasn’t interesting enough so I switched it back to football. I tuned back in around 10:40 for the main event and of course it was all women again and led to smack down vs raw women. I don’t mind a couple women matches and a segment or 2 of them, but that was their f---ing main event? I’m definitely not bothering watching raw again until I hear Brock is appearing against someone. Or until before royal rumble. I am curious to watch the Brock/Styles match, but I’m not paying $10 for one match I’m interested in and could give a s--- less about the rest of the card. I’ll just avoid spoilers and watch it on YouTube afterwards.

If everyone else thought that raw was really good, maybe I’m just not a fan of the sport anymore. Idk but I really tried giving it a chance and I couldn’t watch more than 5 mins at a time. Any chance Brock and Styles come face to face on smackdown tonight? Or even Heyman coming out to run his mouth against Styles? Ik the majority want Styles to win, but I still want Brock to win to make him seem more unbeatable. Especially after ending takers streak that I’m not real happy about. Shawn Michaels should have been the one to do it while they both still looked good and could carry on a long match.

Undertaker 1997 maybe?? Chris Jericho in 03 or 02 (whenever he won the belt, was amazing at promos and his matches were all great) Kurt’s first run? Austin wasn’t the greatest in ring performer that year tbh. He was good but wasn’t as talented in the ring as some of the wrestlers I mentioned.

You’re missing out on 00-03 also. When I had the network, I watched the old 98, some 97 ppvs and from 98-03 shows; I thought it was solid. Some of the shows in 02-03 were my favorite tbh. It was crazy seeing some of just raw and smackdown shows where in today’s wwe, those Raws or smack downs would be ppv’s or main shows or whatever they call them these days. The one smackdown I believe was like the rock, Kurt, Brock vs Taker, HHH and michales maybe cant quite remember or another headliner superstar. I just remember thinking d--- we didn’t know how good we had it back then.

Why is Nia throwing crazy shots in a scrum where nobody can see anything?

I'd be terrified if I had to work with her

As far as overall in-ring performance work is concerned:

Stone Cold Steve Austin in 1997 and 2001 > *
Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho are tied for their phenomenal work in 2003, but Chris Jericho takes all of 2008 > *
    Triple H in 2000 > *
Tie between Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero in 2002 and 2004 > *
Dean Malenko's WCW Run in The Cruiserweight Division's Infancy from 1996 to 1998 > *
Just to name a few, for me. But Stone Cold Steve Austin was so underrated for his actual wrestling. The Ringmaster had a h--- of an understated capaciousness riddled within his repertoire.

RVD gets honorable mentions for his work from 2005 until the following year when they stripped him of the f---ing World Heavyweight Championship Title. b------s.

I agree with Jericho. Disagree with Austin for 4 straight years you ranked him. Taker Vs Mankind h--- in a cell match was better than anything Austin did in those first few years. I’ll agree with Austin in 01 and maybe 1999.

Disagree with HHH in 2000. I would go with the rock that year. Chris Benoit was actually my favorite wrestler, along with the Taker, from 02-06. He went all out every match. Dude was so passionate for the sport. And yeah they did RVD dirty in the wwe. He was talented as f--- in the ring and always put on a great performance.

No. I didn't mean, from 1997 to 2001. I mean just in those years. His 1998 work belongs in there as another honorable mention. I love the combination of his character development, his mic-work, his work ethic, and his actual consistency of qualitative in-ring-performances (Besides that Godawful match between him and The Undertaker at Summerslam 1998 that was supposed to be the best match of that whole year. Certainly was the best feud of that year though.).

Nah man IMO Austin at his best,2001, is better in the ring than Taker and Jericho easily. Kurt is probably better at the end of the day, but Austin's storytelling and ability to sell and craft a match was top notch. It always looked like a knock down drag out fight.

Peak Austin for me is easily better than Jericho, Taker, HHH, Rock etc

I mean really the only people I would say are for sure better than him at pro wrestling are Kurt and Michaels. Everything else idk it'd be a conversation. Austin was a master storyteller

Ehh no way would I say his storytelling was better than Jerichos or Michales, probably Kurt even. I remember Kurt as a kid would actually make me furious watching him. I think you’re underrating Kurt a lot, especially considering he had zero pro wrestling experience at the time and was natural on the mic coming straight to the wwe. To where Austin had years on him and had to go through a few different characters to get where he was at. The crowd backed Austin up and was the fan favorite so no matter what his matches always had hype. Plus his beefs with Vince really put him over as a fan favorite.

Jericho could be a good or bad guy and is one of the best at promos, storytelling imo. Even when he came back and made the “you just made the list” character, he had the fans in a up roar. His run then and the Kevin Owens feud was still my favorite the WWE offered when I started watching consistently again, since like 06 was the last time. Austin coming back once in a while just to give someone a stunner is half boring. Plus with him quitting alcohol, I don’t think he’s creative enough to pull off another character, if he were ever to go on another short term run.

Kurt was the ultimate heel and maybe the best the wwe will ever have as heel in his prime. Austin admitted in interviews he needed to wrestle certain people to put on a great match. He admitted him and taker didn’t have the best chemistry in the ring. To where Jericho, Michaels, Kurt could put a 5 star beef/promo plus a 5 star match with anyone. But yeah Austin was a brawler and he just fit the business at the perfect time with the attitude era. No one will have a run like his from 98-03. Some may argue Cena’s run was close, but he grew stale to me fairly quick compared to Austin. Plus Cena didn’t have the competition Austin did.

And for actual pro wrestling in the ring, Michaels, Kurt, RVD, Eddie, Benoit, Brett Hart, Mankind were all better and that was just a list I quickly thought of. I’m sure I’m missing others.
