A few months ago in the last Breakfast Club interview Kendrick had, Kendrick said that he has a plan that when people look back they're gonna say 'wow that boy did something else that we didn't think no man could do, in music', something along those lines. Kendrick is an artist coming out of hardship and you can see he has a passion for changing what he sees as an "internal struggle". Good kid, m.a.a.d city's message was about him growing up and overcoming the crazy environment he was surrounded in, and in To p---- A Butterfly it's more so about dealing with the things he experiences outside of Compton, both within himself and what he sees for black people in general. On Dumb It Down Kendrick spits "I could be the best rapper but I'd rather be the answer that capture the violence that coincides in my hood" and I believe him. J Cole said in an interview with NPR Microphone Check that in conversation with Kendrick on an airplane, he told Kendrick that if there was anyone to stop g--- violence it would be Kendrick. My theory is Kendrick has a vision to create more albums where each album has a concept and within each concept he deals with topics that will affect people who are in the internal struggle, in order to shift the way they think, similar to a Nelson Mandela, but doing it through music. Similar to how Kanye knew he was going to make three albums called College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation before making them, I think Kendrick has the vision to make albums that each have their own concept and help end the problems he sees that black people deal with. For example, maybe he could make an album entirely about g--- violence and how pointless it is, about freedom and jail, or make an album telling different stories about people he's known, or an album combining these different things. In my eyes he has the potential to become a historical figure that actually makes change outside of just hip hop. Just a thought though, thought I'd post it
